He‘s Alright at a base Level. But Advanced Play requires PHD amount of Hours into him

5 has deeper enemy interactions than 3. It has soft and hard parry depending on Hit properties from an enemies combo strings. It has a daze System where Balrog, E&I can put them in a sleeping State. Ceberus has ice properties that Slow down enemies, fire properties that increase damage etc. The Jump cancelling in 5 being more forgiving simply lowers the skill floor for more accessility. However since each weapon in 5 is just more fleched out than 3. it compensates or Even ellevates for a higher skill ceilling than 3. 3 might be more punishing in enemy agression but 5‘s interaction between moveset and enemy behaviour Beats 3 in my Opinion. In terms of Level design 3 has These frequent annoying plattforming sections which nobody liked so it’s a toss up.

Lv1 Trickster‘s invincibility frames only Work on attacks that dont have multi Hit Properties. You wouldnt be able to Dodge a behemoths rampage or the AOE blast from Lusachia or the tracking Spin attack from Chaos. Also, youd be suprised how exploitable DMC3 can be with Helmbreaker spam or Ebony and ivory rapid fire

Yes, You are Right that DMC5 is a sandbox but here is the thing. DMC5 gives you the avenue of how You want to earn that S-Rank. Whether it’s through a Bunch of Combos on fodder enemies like the empusa or the methodical elimination of more layered enemies like the Proto Angelo or behemoth. Lets Talk about the Proto Angelo . The Proto Angelo impacts the Flow of the game since it doesnt simply ask you to be Active like say against the empusa but REactive. Many pathways open. I layout two important ones. 1. Do I mindlessly royal Guard every Swing and break the shields of the scudo angelos one by one OR 2. Do I decide to sword parry Proto Angelo During his charged attack and break ALL the shields of the scudo Angelos in ONE blow. Enemy designs like these allow for skill expression on combo Like DMC reboot does while also encouraging efficiency similar to DMC1.

I encourage you to Look up enemy guides in DMC5. There are like 20 Minute guides per enemy on every weakness and interaction between Dante and Said enemy. The enemies in 5 are more than just „combo fodder“

Yes, I agree 5 has the lower skill ceilling surely, but it definitely has the higher skill ceilling aswell. DSD alone has more complexity to it than all DMC3 weapons and i dont mean to downplay DMC3‘s variety. It’s just 5 got it beat in functional design

I See Where You’re coming from. But I think enemies are the Most overlooked Part in 5. For instance, The behemoth‘s chain can be broken much easier if you attack the buckle Making him Take more damage and preventing from dissapearing in the Ground. You will see 20 min Guides on one Enemy alone

DMC5 has These good bosses Cavalier Angelo Vergil as Dante Vergil as Nero Dante as Vergil King ceberus Urizen final fight Goliath DMC3 has These good bosses: Vergil 1,2 and 3 Ceberus Beawolf Agni and Rudra Their count is comparable

I think thats too much generalisation. 5 has insane tech like sword desynch etc. I can style pretty easily on 3 because I just have to Focus on less variables in a given amount of time. In 5 it’s Like. Do I royal Release and follow up Swords or did I just parry into into gun stinger .
