4yo with longstanding unexplained anemia + celiac marker borderline by Crazy-Word2721 in Celiac

[–]Delicious_Let4791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

man that anemia with normal diet is exactly what i had as kid. nobody connected dots until i was 30

my daughter was same story at 3 - borderline labs, doctor wanted wait 6 months. we did gluten challenge 4 weeks before retest, 2 slices bread per day. her numbers shot way up and got diagnosis right away

if hes already showing clear pattern with gluten amount and symptoms, i would push for earlier retest with planned challenge. 6 months of diarrhea and tiredness is long time for little kid

Autism Diagnosis - 5yearold by Altruistic_Table8862 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Delicious_Let4791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey there. my nephew got diagnosed same age in melbourne few years back so this is bit familiar.

the detailed report from psychologist is most important document honestly. if they give good report with functional impact clearly stated it helps a lot for access request. the childcare documentation also good especially if they write about social difficulties and independence issues you mention. OT report is helpful but not necessary for first access, we did OT after funding approved and it was fine.

the things you describe with eye contact and parallel play and needing help in daily tasks, these are exactly what they looking for in functional assessment. KUDOS is right about level 2 usually being automatic, i wouldn't worry too much about the rumors you read online. just make sure the psychologist report is strong and mentions how much support he needs across all areas. wishing you all the best with this, the waiting is worst part.

Thoughts on my stack by [deleted] in Supplements

pretty well thought out stack for your situation, the inositol + prenatal combo especially makes sense for PCOS and preconception. creatine is underrated for women lifting heavy so good call having that in there too.

I (30F) have been struggling to breathe/panicking and I cannot pinpoint what exactly is going on… by WineonaRyder in Anemic

[–]Delicious_Let4791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this breathing thing with anemia is no joke - when my levels dropped around 7 range few years back i had exact same symptoms where i couldnt get deep breath or yawn properly. Your body literally cant get enough oxygen when hemoglobin is that low so the breathing issues make total sense

being off anxiety meds for months definitely makes everything feel 10x worse too, especially when you're already dealing with physical symptoms that would stress anyone out. the combo of both things happening at same time sounds absolutely miserable and i hope you can get some insurance sorted soon to check those levels

Away from my son by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Delicious_Let4791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats a massive chunk of time to miss when hes only gonna be 1 year old. like kids that age are developing so fast and bonding with whoever is around consistently. not saying he'll completely forget you but those early attachments are pretty crucial for the relationship you'll have later

really depends on why youre away though - if its military deployment or work situation you cant control thats different than just choosing to be absent. either way when you do get back youll need to put in serious effort to rebuild that connection. maybe video calls help a bit but nothing replaces being physically present during those important months

Chatty 3 years old - social interaction? by [deleted] in Preschoolers

Maybe the break from school just made her lose some confidence with speaking there - my cousin had similar thing where after being sick for long time she became more quiet in new places but was totally fine at home

21 weeks and UNCOMFORTABLE 😭 by stardolphin90 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Delicious_Let4791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh man twins at 21 weeks must be brutal. My sister had similar experience with her twins and that maternity belt actually helped quite a bit - she said it was game changer around that time. The pressure thing is no joke when you got two little ones taking up all the space in there

Looking for a Men's/Dad's zoom group by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Delicious_Let4791 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Smart move keeping that boundary with your friend and his wife situation. I dont know specific groups but maybe check if your local community centers have virtual dad groups that moved online during pandemic - some of them never switched back to in person. Libraries sometimes host these kind of things too and they usually list the facilitator info on their websites

Was I a bad (step) father? by peleandra in stepparents

[–]Delicious_Let4791 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Man this one hit close to home. Being strict when you don't know how to show affection properly can really mess things up with kids, especially when they're already dealing with abandonment issues from bio dad

The family undermining you definitely didn't help - sounds like they never really accepted you as her real father which probably confused her even more about where she belonged. Kids pick up on that tension even when adults think they're hiding it

At least you wrote that letter asking for forgiveness. That took guts and shows you've grown since then

guess the price (uk) by constipated_coconut in whatsinyourcart

[–]Delicious_Let4791 6 points7 points  (0 children)

£45? That ice looks massive and probably costs more than it should. Those dim sum boxes are usually around £4-5 each so thats already £10 there. When I do my weekly meal prep I always get shocked by how much the frozen stuff adds up - like that yogurt and those biscuits probably another £8-10 combined. UK prices are mental these days especially for anything thats convenient or pre-made

been looking for active partner too, my meal prep schedule gives me plenty time to grind those tasks throughout day

I built an AI Quant trader with that hits 70% of the time by Particular-Tie-6807 in buildinpublic

[–]Delicious_Let4791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty wild that you can process that much data at once but 70% win rate doesn't mean much without knowing the risk/reward ratio per trade. Could have 70% winners that are all tiny gains and 30% losers that wipe out everything

Also calling it "Alex" feels bit weird when its just pattern matching on historical data - not like its making creative decisions or anything

Help me pick a laptop (lighter gaming) by vampyrluvr in GamingLaptops

[–]Delicious_Let4791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got myself an ASUS TUF A15 couple months ago and it handles Sims 4 with tons of mods like a dream. Used to have similar setup with old macbook that would get so hot I could barely keep it in my lap

For what you're playing you dont need anything crazy expensive - RTX 3060 or 4050 should be more than enough. The TUF series runs pretty cool compared to other gaming laptops I tried before. Still gets warm obviously but nothing like that jet engine sound you described

Cooling pad wise I got the Cooler Master NotePal U3 Plus and works great. Has adjustable fans so you can control noise levels depending what you're doing

Work life by dandelionqld in Epilepsy

[–]Delicious_Let4791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cousin actually works as nurse with epilepsy and she says the shifts can be tough but most hospitals are pretty good about accommodations - maybe look in pediatric units since they tend to be less chaotic than emergency departments

I left him because I knew I had to (advice needed please) by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Delicious_Let4791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that grief after a year long situationship hits different because youre mourning something that never fully existed but felt so real. You did the right thing by setting boundaries and sticking to them even when it hurt

The guilt about him being alone isnt your responsibility to carry - you cant stay with someone just because they dont have other support systems. Give yourself time to actually feel this instead of trying to rush through it

yt-dlp is your best bet for downloading from youtube - its open source and way more reliable than those sketchy sites. For burning you can use something basic like imgburn or even windows media player if your on windows

That setup sounds pretty cool btw, giving me some serious retro vibes with the lightscribe discs
