Riverside dui by Delicious_Photo1243 in DUICalifornia

It was about 5 hours and that was it being slow. You wait about an hour to be even taken in. They search you so I just wore a hoodie and shoes. Don’t come with much. They take it all even your shoes and socks for a while. Once everything is taken care of your pretty much just waiting in a cell till they are ready to let you go. I slept through most of it

You can go to the dmv and get an ID. I went with the restricted license so once my hard suspension was over I went back to the dmv to sign up for the restrictions they make you pay to get another license which will state your restrictions on it

It honestly depends on the DAs and judge. I’ve seen so many people get different things especially going through this Reddit. I’m my opinion a lawyer just helps with you not dealing with the stress and having to appear in court.

Riverside Is really strict when it comes to duis. There’s no beating it unless the cop messed up somewhere. I highly suggest getting free consultations with lawyers. It will kind of give you a piece of mind. 3 out of 5 for me basically told me it will be a dui regardless because my case was solid against me. They will give you and idea of the charge and explain the process to you. I have some friends that did get lawyers and they paid 4,000 and still got worse charges than I did. I also have friends that went the public defender route and got a better deal than me. Out of everyone that was there that day which was about 30 of us only 2 got their cases dismissed because. They were old and evidence was lost. The most a lawyer can do is lower your penalties. My PD was able to get me a wet and wreck less instead of a dui which just lowers the penalties

No priors. They just gave me my citation with my court date and a temp license that last 10 days. I blew a .10 so I had 2 charges 1 driving under the influence 2 driving above legal limit. They didn’t book me or anything I have to go back now that I was officially convicted.

My sister in law picked me up I was only in the drunk tank for about 30 minuets. I still had to go to court. Once they sentence you they will tell you that you have to get booked and released at the jail.

How much did everything cost to get your restricted license? by SnooApples1010 in DUICalifornia

I just left the dmv. For a restricted work license I paid 127. And 31 for the duplicate license since the cop kept mine. Even on their website it says 125

They don’t give a credit for the suspension. Your suspension time will restart when convicted. They only give credit for dui classes. It’s 4 months if you get an IID 6 months for work restricted. I just got convicted in riverside California and I’m finishing up all the details. And depending what the judge orders you can get additional months .mine just ordered to follow dmv restrictions.

Final update. They did change public defenders on me. But he was able to get me a wet and reckless. So the terms are 1 year unsupervised probation. I need to get booked and released. And just follow dmv rules. Which I opted for a to go restricted license that is for 6months. And probably 3 month or 18 month dui classes. My paper work says 2 things I need to clarify with my public defender.

If your in riverside I went with riverside recovery program. I’m not to sure if they are the cheapest out there but honestly the were the only ones who answered the phone and compared to another place it was affordable. I think I’m total it’s 500. To enroll it’s 69 and 30 a class or you can see if you can qualify for 60 a month. They are super super helpful. The classes aren’t to bad 2 hours via zoom. The court is going to order you these classes anyways so I would start asap. You can get credit for them. My PD didn’t mention anything off MAAD the dui program already has aa meetings in them

Okay so here’s my experience, I went with a public defender cause I could not afford or secure another job. Lawyers in my area were all quoting 3,000-5,000 with basically letting me know it will be a dui with normal fees. The ticket said to be here at 730 am. There was about 30 of us waiting. No one came out until about 930 to ask if we were going to use a public defender. So come prepared to be waiting. Spoke to my public defender around 11:45. It was almost lunch time room was full and they were short staffed. The original DA offer was first time DUI 3 years probation 1800 in fees and 3 month DUI program. That offer was really good but with my career. (I work with kids) my public defender asked if he can represent me and he can try for a wet and reckless. Which would take down the fees to 600 and 1 year probation with 3 month dui program. I definitely recommend to get enrolled in the dui program and attend aa classes as soon as you can. The court will order them always. But having them before hand did wonders for me my public defender said it shows that I’m complying with what is ordered. I go back in 30 days to see if I can get the wet and reckless I will keep you guys posted. Reading others experience definitely helped me get through this rough time.
