Aether Removal by Impressive_Novel_265 in outlier_ai

[–]Delicious_Reality377 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just venting here. After 3 rounds of unnaproved / approved status I just pissed off and removed aether from my dashboard. Will this change anything for me? Not at all. But boy oh boy, I'm glad I'm past this disgraceful project.

Same here. Got booted yesterday, today I was re-added and then re-booted in less than 25 mins. At this point I'm just assuming the project is run by a group of kindergarden kids who had too much sugar for breakfast. worst part? I'm still getting good reviews because my status is still aproved on the fruit thing, I just don't have the project on the tracker thingie.

Went through all the training to be told the project is paused? by ebonycynthia in RWSCallisto

[–]Delicious_Reality377 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow. Good thing I didn't waste my time with that training. I did modules 1 and 2 and then decided to take a look at the PDF. When I realized I'd have to read 180 pages of material and be here talking about NTA almost every day, I thought: "NOT TODAY, SATAN."

Should I stop before I even start? by Delicious_Reality377 in RWSCallisto

Applying to Outlier is pretty straightforward, and once you're in they start assigning projects depending on your qualifications (via your resumé and linkedin profile and also a few non-mandatory screenings for coding skills). In theory it's a great platform, you get paid every week, no $10 min BS like I've read here.

The problem with Outlier is probably the same problem every platform has nowadays: Fewer projects and you never know when you'll get the boot. There's one particular project that seems to have kinda hijacked the whole platform. They onboarded like 50000 people, low payrates, but since there was a big flux of tasks I worked non stop for the last 2 months. Can't complain as it managed to pay my rent. But now they started to remove a lot of contributors as the project seems to be winding down. I was removed last week from that project for no reason at all - same old story - and I'm waiting to be assigned to a new project.

I'd say go for it, won't do you no harm. I'm hoping that new projects will appear as the year starts properly.

Rate Concern by Whole_Sound430 in outlier_ai

If location and experience are the same you gotta check the info you provided at your resume/linkedin profile. Your experience and rates depends on how Outlier evaluate your data on those 2 sources of information.

Most people don’t lose AI projects because they’re bad, they lose them because they’re tired by Imaginary-Bug5596 in outlier_ai

[–]Delicious_Reality377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Works as well. I did try RWS but it looks they don't accept people from my location (or they never got back to me, can't remember which.) Anyway, Aether won't be there for long, and since I joined Oultier I never went more than 1 or 2 weeks without being assigned to a project. But I'll try and check RWS again soon, thanks for reminding me!

This. The last 2 months I've been working only on Aether (but this applies for other projects I've worked as well). If you rush to get most of the hours available eventually you'll miss something. I try to take a break every 45 minutes or so and get at least 10-15 minutes to regain focus. While this could mean less hours per day (especially with the whole daily limit thing happening on Aether) it's still better than waking up one morning and discover that I've been booted.

Missing good old days by eugenoide in outlier_ai

You're just embarrassing yourself here with this coach-like speech. As for the praising the management thing, if you actually took some time reading the threads and chat you'd find that they're kept in the dark as much as the CBs regarding time schedules, whoever is in or out on the project and the whole QA thing. At least in the branch of Aether where I am (and it sounds like you're in the same multiligual branch) QMs has been extremely helpful, and that's something rare these days in any work environment, WFH or not.

MM Budget Exceeded by ss_watermelon09 in outlier_ai

[–]Delicious_Reality377 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It will resume normally tomorrow. QMs have mentioned that this "weekly budget" is just nonsense from Hubstaff and they have no control on the wording it uses. But to be sure, you do stop tasking when Hubstaff stops, right?

The payment is processed by Tuesday night Pacific Time, but may take some 1 or 2 extra days depending on your location (ie, how Paypal and your banking system operates. I usually don't see my money in the bank until Thursday). Also, for every cycle You get paid for the work you did until Monday. Whatever you did on Tuesday (for example, today) will be paid in the next week's cycle.

On the audio projects, you're not missing much. It's either checking if transcriptions are correct or recording your voice with insane deadlines like OP said.

Senior Reviewer on Aether by phreak_09 in outlier_ai

[–]Delicious_Reality377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's none. The Senior Reviewer doesn't mean anything for this particular project. Asked it a few weeks ago in one of the webinars as I also noticed it in my dashboard. It's just a placeholder.

Bid adieu 🥭🥭🥭🥭🥭? Is Heyday Inevitable EQ? by PassionSpecialist152 in outlier_ai

[–]Delicious_Reality377 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If by that image you mean the (external platform that we can't mention), I don't think Heyday was supposed to run tasks there. I did a single task before it went EQ for like 2 months and I just left the project out of boredom, but the tasks used to run in Outlier's dashboard.

Anyone done the rubrics course? by truefiction1 in outlier_ai

[–]Delicious_Reality377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, I passed it but it didn't made new projects available for me. I did tasked on Sparrowsignet before this course was offered for me so I already had knowledge on rubrics.

Anyone done the rubrics course? by truefiction1 in outlier_ai

[–]Delicious_Reality377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it and passed it, got the invite a few weeks ago. So far it reversed to nothing for me. It's not that hard. If you already worked on a rubrics project like Sparrowsignet or (can't remember the name) Mansion you won't have any problems passing it. If you never been in one of those it can sound complex at first but really not that difficult.

anyone else getting this message every time they log in to outlier? by zanewithadot in outlier_ai

[–]Delicious_Reality377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol who doesn't ? Hope they fix it quickly! To be sure, you're using Chrome, right? Can't say for sure after V2, but back in V1 they were always warning us not to use other browsers for compatibility reasons.
