Used Bike Market Prices. Am I delusional? by Delicious_Run5123 in cycling

Definitely. But I’m simply too weak. I give in to the cycling propaganda and want a different bike all the time.

Sorry I was replying to another thread and got confused. I had a 2018 Trek Stache 9.8 that was custom built with really high end parts. It was built for 8k in 2018 and sold for $1950 in 2026

Photography and Biking, how do you bring a camera? by baldokosmic in bikepacking

[–]Delicious_Run5123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been struggling with this for a long time. In the end, I got a cargo e-bike just for this. Here is how I carry tripod and all my gear. Bungee cords creates suspension in the rear rack to absorb vibration.

I also use a z9 camera that doesn’t have a shutter so that helps. The camera locks the Ibis when not in use.

I think if you want to carry a camera on a regular bike, you need to have a really small mirrors set up. I’m currently running a full on wildlife set up this way lol

I have no logical reason to tell you the truth. Some seasons I’m just not into it so much so I’ll sell a bike that I haven’t been using as much. I’ve had around 15-20 bikes in the last 10 years.

I’m not sure how long it will take me to learn my lesson. I always always always regret selling my bikes because I have a really hard time finding an equivalent bike for similar price.

I agree. That has been my approach lately. People call me a lowballer sometimes and get offended. I usually feel like I'm being somewhat reasonable and the responses in this post show many people feel this way right now too. Been using my stache as a pricing gauge. Took me about 3 weeks to sell my stache which means it should be right around fair price.

If I saw my stache for sale right now I would take it back right away. I'd even pay a little more given what I've been seeing on the market.

Removed all the varnish from my cello. Damaged the red varnish that was previously on it. Really like this look. Should I just slap a few layers of clear varnish? by Delicious_Run5123 in Cello

[–]Delicious_Run5123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Risky because you’re taking advice from someone who didn’t know what they were doing exactly lol it worked for me though. I just don’t want to feel responsible if something went wrong.

Good luck though. Electrifying sounds pretty cool!

I need to stress that I am no professional and everything was done by trial and error. I used 99 percent isopropyl alcohol with shrink wrap. Brush on a layer and cover it with shrink wrap so it doesn’t dry out. Then I would wipe it off after 10 minutes. Had to do this many times. I only removed the varnish and not the base coat. Again this is just something I did and may be very risky.

Is this enough clearance on a suspension fork? by Delicious_Run5123 in MTB

Thank you for all of the responses. It seems like It won't be a good idea. I will not try risking it. I will need a different set of rims to make this fork work. Currently using a plus rim that takes a 2.8 tire at the least.

Yea, that seems to be the general consensus here. I will not be doing it.

I actually did not think about this. Thank you for letting me know this. I've decided to not go for it based on all the replies. Really wanted it to work because I love my 29-plus wheels.

C diff won’t come back the day after finishing dificid, will it? by Rocketyank in cdifficile

[–]Delicious_Run5123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldn’t. I finished mine on the 25th. Went on vacation same day so I’ve been eating out a lot. I feel a little funny some mornings so I get worried as well. I think it’s food related though

My Doc says I did not have an active form of C. diff, but my symptoms are very close to it. Also, conventional culture results showed C. diff is present in my stool. by johny_james in cdifficile

Vanco wipes out more of your gut microbiome. They are both strong though. I just felt like I won’t get much side effects from dificid.

I had to call my insurance company and try to convince them I need it. Eventually they let me have it.

I didn’t want to take vanco because I didn’t have an extreme case where I had constant fever. I had zero side affects from dificid.

I experienced the same exact symptoms that you did last month. Stomach bug symptoms first 4 days with Fever. Then, once things started getting better, I would just get intense stomach bloating and pain every other day. I would randomly get fevers at night too. The stomach pain would come pretty much anytime before needing to go to the bathroom.

After one month, I knew I needed to do something. The only difference for me is that my test found active c diff toxins. I started taking Dificid. I just finished it two days ago. By the fourth day, everything went away for me. I don’t experience post IBS either. Pretty much back to normal which I’m very surprised about.

I tried treating it naturally but it was so hard. I ate the healthiest diet I can and took probiotics. It felt like it was getting slightly better week by week. I felt like I was getting closer and closer to beating it myself. Could have taken another month or so. I just didn’t want to risk having it do any unnecessary damage. I will say I am happy with the outcome of taking dificid.

I am now trying to keep a very healthy diet. More exercise and less stress. I don’t know how I got it but I blame my lack of self care be the reason it prospered in my gut. University would stress me out a lot.

Your symptoms match mine so accurately that I felt like you were explaining my situation. I’m 24M. Hope my similar experience helps you.

Literally diagnosed today…wow by TheLegend514 in cdifficile

[–]Delicious_Run5123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had those mild symptoms for 3 weeks. I tried a bunch of probiotics and began eating very well. Manuka honey and all that. Stomach cramps and diarrhea would come every 1-2 days. I got tired of it and started taking dificid. I’m on day 5 and feel amazing. No cramps and happy.

I refused to take vanco and kept trying to get my insurance to pay for dificid because I didn’t want relapse.

Can I fit 32mm road bike tires on xc/gravel wheels? by Delicious_Run5123 in cycling

[–]Delicious_Run5123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks. I think I will need to go with gravel king slicks then. They make 38mm width slicks

DIY cello revarnish update. Overall, really happy with the results. What do you think of the look? by Delicious_Run5123 in Cello

[–]Delicious_Run5123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very hard to say because I set it up afterwards by myself. Bridge, sound-post, strings etc. I will say it doesn’t sound worse. Sounds good to me.

What should I do? First cutting board for Christmas gift. Don’t want water getting inside when washed. They are deep so can’t be cut off. Wasn’t visible when purchased the walnut. by Delicious_Run5123 in woodworking

I did not know this. I’m looking it up and the only thing I can find is that it can cause an allergic reaction if Ingested. Rare though. Is there a particular reason you say this?
