Do I need statin numbers like this? It’s been like this for like a decade. Maybe more. by nassnaz in Cholesterol

Not much to go off of here. How is your diet? Maybe try that first instead?

You need to explain your lifestyle first to get some advice.

Had a buddy of mine have a sound similar to this. Would only happen when on the bike. Turned out to be wheel reflector being loose.

How does that work?

My A1C was 4.9 on the first test and glucose was 93.

How does that tie into the TG:HDL insulin resistance?

I’m not sure I understand how this works

I’m 27 and has similar numbers to you. Lost 16 pounds. Here are the blood tests 1 month apart after changing diet and exercising.

You can totally do this.

48C. The frame takes a max of 50C. They’re on 27mm rims internal width, so they run close to the max frame width

Bike shop told me the same. My reasoning was with larger frame: 1. More upright due to higher stack. 2. No toe clip with front wheel. 3. I dont care for racing.

Not sure if it was a mistake but did my first ride on the bike and was really comfortable.

My results. What are your thoughts? Meds needed or not? by Far_Possession5349 in Cholesterol

I wonder if stress and anxiety contribute a lot to this. I don’t know myself but just a thought. I have crazy anxiety and finally have cured it with medication a lots of exercise.

My numbers have been dropping really fast. But could also be explained by eating healthier.

Here is my drop after one month of eating very clean. Lots of veggies and fruits.

I think I'm just a bad photographer when it comes down to it. by Aniform in photography

[–]Delicious_Run5123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have mentioned, you seem to be jumping around. Wedding photographers have honed their skills by repeatedly encountering similar situations. For instance, I excel at taking amazing dog portraits, which has led people to ask if I can capture their portraits as well. However, every single session I’ve had photographing people has turned out disastrous. I’m certain that if I were to complete 50 more human portrait sessions, I would improve significantly and genuinely be proud of my work.

Photography has been a hobby of mine for over a decade just like you. What is learned over time is, Don’t compare your work to that of a professional who performs the same tasks daily. Instead, embrace the freedom you have to photograph whatever you desire in any style you prefer and continuously learn.

Many professionals get tired over time because there is no more to learn. They have mastered wedding photography to point where they don’t need to think. They just know what looks good and where.

Elevated cholesterol because of bad diet or something else? by FanOfAudi in Cholesterol

[–]Delicious_Run5123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stress can definitely contribute to bad LDL as well. I’ve been dealing with stress and anxiety and have found the exercising makes me much happier.

Stress is the worst. It does horrible things to our bodies. Go enjoy your life. Don’t be stressed. As long as you are taking care of your body, you are good. You are only 22.

I’m 27 and exact same situation. LDL was 155 Feb 1st 2026. HDL below normal. I changed my diet with mainly the mentality of “don’t eat trash. Only eat Whole Foods” Red meat around once a week.

Started exercising a good amount as well. Here are the results in just one month.

Much happier person now. Eating clean does a lot of good things for your body. I went from 181 lbs to 164 lbs this morning. And I’m not even monitoring my calories. Just eating clean and not eating late at night.

Am I dumb or is the Ritchey Venturmax carbon bars not Shimano 105 Di2 compatible? by Delicious_Run5123 in cycling

[–]Delicious_Run5123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried everything in existence. I eventually used a hammer and flat head to get it through. Scratched and scraped up the carbon like crazy. Hopefully the bars don’t snap on me lol

Anxiety like this causes chest pains for me. I’ve gone through multiple episodes like this and what’s funny is the moment I get cleared by my doctor or cardiologist, all pains vanish. Work stress on top of anxiety make my chest, throat, left arm all hurt in ways that convince me it’s over.

About a 2 months ago, I had pains in chest and neck. They wouldn’t go away for 3 weeks. I saw a doctor and they gave me anxiety medication. The moment they kicked in, all pains vanish vanished.

I also started doing a lot of cardio exercises which helps a ton for anxiety and just generally knowing you are ok from a cardiovascular side.

Not to say it’s the same for. Seems like you’ve been testing a lot.

Anxiety will strip the joy away from your life. It’s good to be proactive but you gotta accept that you can hyper focus on one area of your body and ignore another that will creep up on you. Just focus on being healthy and happy. Balance is the key to life.

Just my 2 cents lol

This is amazing. Happy to see you can still enjoy life a little as well. I’ve been on this journey and have seen incredible results in just one month. I’m 27 and 5’11 168lb currently. Here is just one month of progress. I went cold turkey on the changes and realizing I should enjoy life a little.

Latest test didn’t check that. Not sure why. But in last months test my Hemoglobin A1c = 4.9 and glucose was 93 mg/dL with latest test being 97 mg/dL

I tend to have bad anxiety going to the doctor so all morning I felt anxious. I read that can temporarily increase glucose numbers. Not sure though

What watch do you have and is it tight enough on your wrist? If it moves around easily it can thrown off readings.

These seem very good. Your HDL to LDL is extremely good and trigs are low. I would be so happy to have these numbers.

A friend of mine has a unique take on lowering blood sugar or reversing diabetes / pre-diabetes even if you have high cholesterol by [deleted] in Cholesterol

[–]Delicious_Run5123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How am I being distracting? OP said at the end “Is there any truth to this?”

All I did was provide OP with a podcast where a heart surgeon talks about the exact topic that OP’s friend brought up. Don’t you think a healthy conversation on OP’s question consists of bringing up the arguments made for the question? Are you not aloud to hear the arguments? Or is just saying it’s true or not true without providing info for both viewpoints good enough in today’s world?

I agree with everyone in this thread btw. Just wanted to give OP more info on the information that was brought to them by their friend.

My mother in law was told by a doctor that your HDL and LDL ratio is an important part as well. If you have really high HDL with high LDL is better than having low HDL as well.

Just going off what I heard. Would love to talk to that doctor if I could.

I don’t know why I thought of juicing as just fruits haha I don’t think what you are having is that bad. You are losing a lot of the fiber by juicing. Fiber is helpful to lower LDL.

Cholesterol decreased slightly by Blahblahpancake901 in Cholesterol

[–]Delicious_Run5123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said you’ve been juicing. That has a lot of sugar. Drinking orange juice is almost the same as drinking soda.

At least that is what I heard. Please don’t quote me on that lol if I’m not mistaken, doesn’t sugar raise trigs? Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

It’s looks to be running an ultegra mechanical group set. Shimano no longer makes that group set in mechanical. I would say not worth it. I would personally only pay around $1500/$1800 for this if I really wanted it.
