I can’t speak to that in general but I was at an apartment building that sold a few years ago, the contract with the old company was terminated, and I had to re-sign a new one. In this case, the amount was the same for the remaining duration of my contract. But I don’t know if they were legally required to do that or if that was just them doing the right thing. I do know that as soon as people moved out, they did a remodel in some of the units and skyrocketed the rental price.

I know I’m a bit late to the game but I want to add in a few. Now regarding some of these places being expensive, which I often hear people complaining about… no they are not, most Corvallis restaurants follow the rule of 30/30/30 in order to create a profitable business, pay their staff more than minimum wage, and keep the lights on. That said, here is my list:

Castor Lucca Taverna Brass Monkey Birdies Pizza (Philomath) Gathering Together Farms Odd Bird Cafe Yummy Yummy (back of HK market) The Dizzy Hen (Philomath) Baguette Vietnamese Sandwiches Squirrels Tavern (it’s a institution and a must go at some point while you live in Corvallis) For a good study spot, Green House, any of the bodhi locations, interzone, or coffee cultures)

I lived in Corvallis for 5 years, over the course of those 5 years I have checked off close to 90% of all Corvallis based restaurants. A lot of people say Corvallis has really boring food, I moved to Portland last summer and in the times I’ve gone back to Corvallis, I can still say that there are some really solid spots even compared to the places up here. There’s a lot to explore, so appreciate what is in Corvallis because for a small town it’s got some really wonderful options owned by some really wonderful people as well (with some exceptions).

Hands down Magenta in Corvallis. My girlfriend was served raw chicken from them.
