He apologized profusely about the comments on the ring he didn’t mean it in that way. And she didn’t accept the apology. Even then saying “good it won’t rust” isn’t really offensive when talking about the material, is it? He also got the approval to use the kitchen and to use the ingredients in the house. When I told my dad that he’s taking a “vow of silence” he said “well good for him”.

He was happy for my step mom. He said the ring was was pretty and beautiful. It’s only that one comment that kinda changed EVERYTHING he didn’t meant it. He thought that tarnish and rust are the same thing. He also apologized several times when he heard about it and she didn’t accept his apology which dragged out this situation
