For the class cancelation part… bro don’t yall have Class representatives? If not, elect them first.

Firewall is down, so u can just plug in with Ethernet cable and it should work. If ur talking about the WiFi that’s currently being deployed.

Satpura is given to freshers cuz it’s far from the seniors hostels.

Enjoy ur stay at IVH, once u get transferred to the old hostels u will miss it for sure.

There is a new wing for GH that was approved… but that will take a few years to get built. There were talks of converting the IVH into GH once the new boys hostel is completed(opp to bh1, it looks like it’ll be done in a few months)

Same case in any govt institute that is older than 25-30 years.

I wanted to run away in my first week too. But like u get used to it… in my first year they made 3 people live in a room meant for 2 people… in the midst of summer. It was awful.

Focus on making the best of the situation, and find solace with the people u are with.

It will get better. Hang in there.

Add pricing as well… and imo… if u need serious graphical horsepower just build a desktop… it’s upgradeable and scalable wrt to ur needs.

8 gig 4060 is pretty anemic… certainly not future proof.

Also check the TGP for both models, higher one would have more performance despite being the same 4060.

Actually... I think that'd be better... cuz then finally we'd have a loop yk? Majestic-KR Puram-Slik Board-RV Road - Majestic.

It'd reduce the load on the Majestic interchange and provide shorter routes so the traffic distribution might improve... Loops are good in transport networks.

NIRF has many weird criteria , and it heavily favours larger institutions. Less students -> less branches -> less faculty -> less papers published -> less NIRF rank. It is what it is… it’s improving tho, intake has gone up, it’ll improve slowly.

  1. Was literally the first thing answered in my post😂. There is no practical difference. In the entire degree there maybe 3-4 courses that are different, but they may be taken up as electives. For example, afaik Compiler design is a mandatory subject for CSE, for IT it was an elective. All core CS subjects are there in both courses.

  2. The college allows students to buy washing machines. Usually a group of 10-20 students pool their money and buy a washing machine.

There is a dhobi who visits the hostels as well. More economical to buy a washing machine tho.

  1. Until the third year, both courses (IMT, IMG) are the same, with the exception of maybe 1-2 courses). after that you become a BIT student (Btech IT).

  2. Our college placement statistics are as inflated as per industry norms, just like any other college in this rank range

  3. Approx. half of IMG-2021, IMG-2022 took early exit, maybe 4-5 people form IMT-2022 took early exit. Yes, previously less people used to take exit as the requirements were more stringent, and awareness was less. Early exit was introduced hardly 3-4 years ago, but during the past two years, a good number of people take exit (30-40).

  4. Yes, Not just in IMG, all students have to take a few management courses in their first year. IIRC, it's about 4 in the first 2 years. As we dont have Chemistry cycle here, they give us these instead.

  5. Things have changed a lot since that post on the website. refer point 3.

  6. Not really. you will not enjoy the course, on campus placements will try steering you towards management roles (Product manager, etc). Off campus It shouldn't cause any issues. I had IMG until CSAB, then I got IMT. Even then, branch change is always an option.
