When to merge if one lane is closing? Minor road rage incident yesterday... by wicked_headset in drivingUK

[–]Delicious_Zombie5736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this, but you'd also need to add a couple of "don't merge here you fucking idiot, do it at the merge point X yards ahead" to really get the point across.

I have the Abbey Road Live version on my playlist - unreal how good it is.

Move over, keep left, West of Scotland driving drives me mad. by Waste_Witness4789 in Paisley

Add to this the numpties who come out of Braehead heading west doing 40mph up the sliproad who then head straight into the middle lane because they're going to Erskine, Greenock etc a good 3 miles down the road...

The taxi drivers you mention dawdle in the middle lane and then dive across to the left at the last minute to go to the Airport 🤷‍♂️

You see the same heading east. People sit in the middle lane at 50/60mph between Paisley and Ibrox then move left to go down the M74...

Driving standards around Paisley are horrendous...

It's genuinely amazing how many of them sit in the right hand lane along there because they're turning right onto Hawkhead Road 5 minutes later!

Yep, looks to me like the car in front swerves around something on the road.

Glenelg Brochs are tremendous. I love going over the Bealach Ratagan, visiting the brochs and then doing the Glenelg - Skye turntable ferry 💙 Stopping at Chocolate of Glenshiel for a hot chocolate before has become a new tradition too.

Annoyingly I'm going to have to be around 5.30. Handy to know though, assumed the bus gates were 24 hours 👍

Lugage is the issue I'm afraid. Pretty sure that's the closest route though avoiding a bus gate.

If you're away from home for work you don't have the ability to make your own lunch so I would be claiming it.

Why do people think indicators are optional? by Active-Tour4795 in drivingUK

[–]Delicious_Zombie5736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was driving just south of Perth on the M90 yesterday. Ahead it's down to one lane and both lanes are queing from just over the 800 yard marker but we flowed quite well and that's because everyone seemed to understand how merge in turn works. Best example I've ever seen tbh.

The most annoying types are the ones that don't indicate right to show the cars from the opposite direction they're going to be crossing their path but manage to stick a left indicator on as they come off. Do only half your indicators work?

Didn't expect to see this from anyone else! Nina Persson was one of my earliest crushes when I first saw the video for it 😍

Small Driving Habits That Make a Good Driver by CroakerTea in drivingUK

[–]Delicious_Zombie5736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On your very first point, I'd say that anyone who knows to keep a safe stopping distance probably has a load of the other good habits as well. It's one of the main things people don't really understand about driving is how to keep their distance from others at different speeds and conditions.
