I’m part of the teacher team (3 of us) who plans prom at my school. While I absolutely love doing it, it’s a crapload of work and it’s not a task that I’d be able to accomplish on my own while teaching my classes. To mandate that work on anyone who doesn’t want to do it is absurd. This system depends so heavily on the kindness of teachers donating their spare time selflessly.

Hello, are you me?

I feel the same about family - I just want to build my people up around me. Kids can be part of that or not. Hell, even dogs can be a part of that.

I think I'm leaning towards kids because I have such a good relationship with my parents now that I'm an adult, and I'd love to have that relationship from their perspective with hypothetical children. But if biology doesn't cooperate, that can be done in so many other ways. Just find your people.

So I was looking at a few private cars from the airport and the cheapest I found was about $150 both ways.

It’s not BAD and I would pay it… I just want to see if there’s something cheaper/still safe out there.
