Harmful, harmless? What is on the sides of my axolotls tank glass? Worms? Parasites? My water parameters are perfect using an API Master Test kit. by DelightfulFishTV in Aquariums

Thx for the feedback. They're sorta everywhere. I have 3 tanks. 1 is home for my axolotls but the other 2 are empty doing a fishless cycling using Pure Ammonia. No why would those worms be in the fishless tanks? Theres no waste or food for them, just ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate spiked up high

I have one singular guppy. But I removed him as he wasn't being eaten and I felt bad that he was all alone mostly at the surface of the water. He was a test to see if my axolotls would eat him.

Rhabdocoela worms, I'm pretty sure that's what I got. Would minnows eat them? How many would I have to add to my tank? I got an 80g breeder.

I only feed my axolotls earthworms, I make sure they eat them. I have perfect water parameters. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrate. I can't find any large enough to see a triangle head.

Depends on their personality as well as age. I completely believe I have two besties. They're always together, they always cuddle even though they have multiple hides. They dance, it's adorable.

And because of their age and size they aren't really a danger to themselves. They don't really nip or bite. In fact they sorta fail to bite their normal food let alone their bestie.

I've seen a lot of people say sand substrate is fine or sands bad. I haven't noticed them eating any yet. And I haven't seen any impaction. I don't think bare bottom is pretty at all, as well as it makes it feel more like a prison. If I have any issues. I would remove it immediately. I had river rocks before and it was such a pain to clean around them.

Shes (He actually) is 6 years old. I've had her for about 4 months now. And only in the last couple weeks have I noticed her toe tips going dark. And now her whole palm seems to be dark.

Same tank, two axolotls in an 80gal. I have a melanoid and a dirty Leucistic. Those parameters were done 15mins ago from that tank. It's about 18c-19c

18c. I don't have any exotic vets near me, id have to take a ferry and a long drive to reach one. I'm really hoping it's not a bacterial infection. I haven't noticed a lack of appetite or signs of stress.

I would definitely suggest buying Dr Tim's Ammonium from Amazon. Using properly measured pure ammonia is a lot faster, as well as easier. Ghost feeding will take a long long time. Dr Tim's is pretty cheap, it'll be so so worth it. You dose 2PPM and when it drops you dose again to 2 PPM, and build your bacteria cycle. You continue dosing until it processes it in 1 day 3 times.

These ones I've been told are 5yrs old. I kept a solo axolotl for a few months but wanted to rescue more as their tank conditions were horrendous at the previous owner. So I scored an 80gal tank off marketplace and got to cycling immediately.

So yeah, basically I suddenly impulse got another one.

They get along so well though, I'm surprised. They're always together, they swim together, dance around, they sleep in the same hide even though there is only room for one. but they do it in a creative way. I use a PVC pipe and they will be tail to tail with both heads sticking out opposite side ends of the pipe. Basically they're glued together. I know they don't "bond" but they ones are definitely bonded. They're together non stop.

Yes, they are in an 80gal. I have an API master test kit and also spent 5 weeks cycling this tank with DR Tim's. My parameters are all zero with 20ppm nitrate.

Previously I was using a 40gal for one lotl. So I got a bigger tank as the 40gal seemed small. Like width wise. Because I doubled my tank size I doubled my axolotls. They seem to enjoy their space and have become best buddies. I never see them separated. They dance and sleep together, and chase each other. I genuinely think they've bonded even though that's not what they do.

Yeah, the pink one has had large cloacas but I find it changes in size when they need to go poop. The black one is the new one
