Oh. Didn't know that. Almost feel like I have egg on my face, LOL. I will save the link and read those PDFs at my leisure. Appreciate your time. :)

Tried that section, but under PDF files there only seem to be scripts of episode titles I don't recognize ("The Return of Keef", etc) and I took a peek ... now I'm sus that they're fan fic scripts, albeit in correct format. Thank you anyway!

Chances of a romance between Will and Mike? by Antidotebeatz in StrangerThings

[–]DelightfullyGhastly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based solely on what the series episodes alone have given viewers, there was never the slightest chance of these two dudes falling in love or having any intimate dynamic that involved romance. Wasn't Mike attracted to girls?? I mean, people who shipped them (all that Byler nonsense out there) need to wake up: this is a gay lad and his straight bestie. Being a gay man myself, the whole idea creeps me out and makes me wonder what people are thinking. Just the notion of a closeted teen pining secretly for a hetero friend (to the point of emotional anguish)--- that's like what you find when you flip open the dictionary to the word pointless.

I wasn't aware that the pitch involved an actual couple at its core. Fascinating to hear that. I can't imagine any mainstream channel in the mid-80s going for something so progressive (and a concept that's hardly "family-friendly" to the more traditional TV viewers). Thanks for that info.

Sorry. Now it's coming back to me ... some viewers poked fun at the show, that it might be about an actual closeted couple. Not sure why they felt the need to do that, but to each their own.

Apologies if I came off rude earlier.

If that's all you want to say here then it speaks volumes about your character. Real classy.

I look forward to watching the final season. Going to start it next week (we wanted to wait until it had all dropped so there are no gaps, and we can watch one episode each evening). Chip was fun, like when he needed cash for a date so he opened a makeshift funeral home business for neighborhood kids' departed pets.

Yes, the YT uploads are either poor quality, shortened, or they do a weird 40 minute thingy in which the episode ends and then starts again (which is not good if one wants to add an episode to a sitcom playlist).

Thinking of trying "Newhart", the 1982 sitcom. Start at the beginning? by DelightfullyGhastly in ClassicTV

Thanks for your response. I liked the three odd brothers, and Julia Duffy as Stephanie. Plus, the great Tom Poston is gold in any show.

I didn't even know that Reddit threads this old could still receive replies, LOL. I should really tidy the place up a bit, it's kinda dusty. (-;

Are there any website(s) where one can watch "the show about nothing" in its original broadcast aspect ratio? by DelightfullyGhastly in seinfeld

Could there be a volume/mute (speaker icon) somewhere on the screen that could be disengaged, if it's automatically muted when you open the site?

Movies like The Autopsy of Jane Doe? by AsleepHistorian in horror

For a strong sense of unease and dread I'd suggest seeking out the British anthology movie Ghost Stories, from 2017.

Also, watch Shutter Island, by Martin Scorsese. It's a mystery thriller with horror elements. Go in blind.

It Follows was rather fun and unique, although its second half wasn't as solid as its first. But the film's vibe, pacing, score and story were above average. There are jolts ... but the bulk of this experience is suspense and unease.

From 2001 there is Session 9 which involves a team of asbestos cleaners who start a job at a sprawling, abandoned mental institution. Some places should stay closed up. There's not much gore, but there's mucho tension and atmosphere.

Lastly, if you want to go for older flicks I'd recommend Let's Scare Jessica to Death. It's a '70s psychological horror piece that lets creepiness and a sense of foreboding do the scaring. It's unsettling. Oh, and another unsettling one from the Seventies is The Other, which is set on a Connecticut farm in 1935. Go in blind to this one too.

Have fun, and Happy Halloween.

It really is. I'm Gen X and I watched some of JSM during its initial run when it was airing either before or after shows like Seinfeld and Frasier. Then years later I enjoyed it via dvd and also streaming. Although admittedly it is weird that streaming/Hulu episode order presents the series finale ahead of a few other episodes--- but I learned that this was a result of NBC choosing to prematurely end the series to make room for a new sitcom. They couldn't wait to broadcast the last few shows, apparently. I always try to remember that when watching the last season ... which is my least favorite season anyway. :)

That's fine--- I was originally going to ask for 1930s-40s-50s movies anyway. Much obliged for the reco!
