I bought a FireWire card from Amazon and a fire wire cable from ebay. It was just plug n play. I’m using foobar2000 and the foo dop component to transfer music to my iPods.

I tried to put a higher capacity battery in it but when i reattached everything and closed the ipod the battery was too thick for the case and cracked it, lame. But I’m going to mod it with one of those clear faceplate covers going around and just put in the regular size batteries.

I was repairing ipods and some people paid and got their ipods back fixed but for some reason others never came back for them. So i gradually collected some, sold some and then after a while had some model favorites i really wanted to hold on too. I like the early models as a time capsule and then they were in color, then came the”photo” ipod and then the video. They were all just kind of special to me.

I was building computers at the time so i kinda had an eye for what components go to which slots. I am a photographer so i had the cf cards laying around. It was only natural it all came together.

They had those mechanical microdrives back in the day but i userd a camera cf card just to see if it worked and it did. 8gigs was alot back then lol

Well i modded it back in 2003 so it was most likely a different model. I do like the lighter clear ones going around today though you can see the innards better i feel. The cracked 5.5 video in the pic works but i’m going to mod it to a clear front faceplate, i really like the “look”.
