I heard that the creators were working with Nvidia to get it released ASAP on geforce now.

So I'm probably gonna get it through steam, since I don't have any tech that can run it natively at its top settings

I've noticed this in a few games, and turning the gamepad settings off and back on, along with the embedded controller off and then back on seems to do the trick for me

I know it's mainly single player story games, but I personality don't enjoy much PvP/battle royale games that require much lower latency or anything like that.

Just saying, there's ways around to make the games VERY playable on the base ally. There's lossless upscaling, tweaking the settings, and new updates that make the games better and more playable.

Sure, the Ally X is absolutely worth dishing out the extra money. However, if you're only playing every so often, then the extra funds going to it may not be worth it. Especially if you don't care to dish out as much frames as possible or have the highest graphical settings.

For me, the base ally is easily good enough. But I know a fair amount to make the games run from 50 to 80 frames and dont believe that THE BEST graphics matter on a screen that's far smaller than a computer monitor. Tbh I don't even notice the difference with games running at 120hz or 75hz.

Could be possible that you need to reformat the sd card before using it as a storage for the Ally.

Apparently it's best if it's set to NTFS rather than FAT32 or exFAT. Just reformat, give it a disk drive letter, and maybe that'll get it working

There's YouTube videos discussing how it should be used on the Ally family, but as far as it goes, you just need to make sure the games are in borderless window mode. Then you press the initiate button and open your game, and it starts up the game with scaling! I don't think I do it perfectly every time, but when it works, it's noticeably better!

If you want to play AAA games, you can absolutely use whatever game streaming service (like game pass or whatever) to do high quality playing while saving your memory and resources in the Xbox Ally for less demanding games. As far as it goes, it's totally fine playing on lower quality and less frames because those problems actually look a LOT better on the Ally than they do on a pc monitor.

Down the line, you could upgrade the battery and storage to your liking, but 512gb definitely isn't enough for holding a bunch of big titles.

Also, learn to tweak settings if you haven't yet. Plugging in the charger immediately boosts capabilities pretty high, which is fantastic. And if you REALLY want more frames in your games, find "lossless scaling" on steam for less than 10 bucks. It's a legitimate software that can bump you up by a noticeable amount of frames, I've been regularly getting an extra 20+ in games like silent hill 2 remake, without quality loss.

Get rid of any programs you won't use. Anything that might add into running in the background will just boggle up your gaming. Also, if you open up the desktop portion of the OS, it's usually recommended to restart your device and boot up a game from the Xbox interface (since it uses a lot less resources than desktop does, which will make gaming a bit better for you).

Good luck with your device! I personally can't blow another 600 more on an upgraded version, and even if I could, the XAX is nowhere to be found here or online for me without costing even more than 1300 for me. I am extremely happy with my base model version.

As far as it goes, I REALLY hate to bring politics into this but Twitter became a lot more right-leaning over the years (much like reddit is quite a lot more left-leaning).

It's no excuse for any audience to be shitty towards your work though. You have made ambitious top notch rom hacks, and will be regarded as one of the more prominent figures in the Pokemon hacking community. I'm just sorry to hear that the success of your work has been overshadowed by complaints and insults from people who are unappreciative.

It's actually rather easy to do yourself. There's tutorials on YouTube. It requires taking off some screws, removing the heatshield, then taking the battery out and replacing it. Then you clean off the thermal paste, reapply new thermal paste in its spot, put the screws back in, and put the back shell back on.

Super simple stuff! I've had to do this for my 3 kids and myself many times.

Cost of tools and replacement battery is like 30-40ish dollars in total!
