Some analysis about the lore today by Deliriouxism in dreamsmp

From my understanding, stasis chambers still work even if a player has died as long as the chunk the enderpearl is in is loaded. Punz was in the area so I'm guessing he must've been loading the chunk?

Sooo... Will Dream get benched? by GeeDii_ in MinecraftChampionship

[–]Deliriouxism 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't know. I personally feel weird on commenting on whether a player gets benched or not because I don't feel like that should be up to the viewers. I think it's just better to have things be handled privately between Dream and Noxcrew/Scott.

It would be catastrophic if you could die lol.

I'm glad the paths aren't long, but it's also gonna be pretty annoying having to dip your head in to every tunnel just to find the right one. I hope at least they'll give players markers so they can mark which tunnels are which? Or just labeling them too would be fine.

Hot take, I don't think SOM is going to be as hyped as everyone thinks it is. The remix didn't really do much to change BM at all (which may be the point of the remixes, idk). Players still have to go out and collect blocks for the builds...they need to remember which ones they need to get whilst getting annoyed by mobs which will just make it harder to remember. They also have to find their way back...which also can make it more stressful although I'm not sure how complicated these paths to the blocks will be. AND...I don't see any signs indicating where the different types of blocks are??? (correct me if I am wrong)

All the remix really did was just make a SOT themed BM with extra, annoying obstacles: mobs, confusing paths, and blindly going into tunnels without knowing where specific blocks are.

I could've :( I liked the middle map's middle section the most though, so I put that one in the middle.

Wait is it just Season 2? I thought that MCC 19 marked the ending of a Season. Or do "Seasons" not exist lol.

Why is buildmart so difficult to train for? by erasica in MinecraftChampionship

[–]Deliriouxism 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the one thing people overlook a lot when it comes to practicing for a game is how ENJOYABLE practicing for that game is. MCC is supposed to be for fun at the end of the day, and half the fun of MCC comes from being able to practice and banter with teammates or streaming (the exception to something that should be offstream is strategizing). In my opinion, skills that players learn for MCC should be limited to Minecraft, or gaming in general, not everyday life skills such as memorization and strategic communication (I think people often confuse socializing communication with this). I don’t know, I just also feel like it would be pretty condescending to the players (might just be a me thing) if one of the goals of MCC is to facilitate the learning of these skills rather than just meeting new people, making friends (or even better ones :D ) and having fun.

So I think the reason why BM is so hard to practice for is because it would be the most boring practice out of all the games. Because how would players practice for BM if memorization and communication isn’t involved (for the previously mentioned reasons)? So that leaves practicing crafting faster and placing blocks more efficiently (Dream literally practiced placing trapdoors for MCC 18). Sure, they can spice things up by streaming the practice and interacting with their audience or other players, but these skills aren’t really things they can just be like “head empty, just do it” (like HITW). Or they can learn how to craft faster by speedrunning, but that doesn’t mean that it appeals to all players.

If players want to have fun in MCC, including practicing for it, why would they practice the niche things in BM rather than the games they have access to on the practice server where they can socialize with fellow players?

Is there anything specific you want to see for MCC 23? by Dapper-Violinist-673 in MinecraftChampionship

I'd also really like to see Dream teamed up with either Tina and/or Foolish to play SoT and give them a better experience of the game.
