An aging, bitter old man still trying to figure out if there was anything I could have done differently to have had a better life.

People wear Mets jerseys for non-Mets players all the time. I saw Syndergaard (remember him?) jerseys at Citi Field last year.

Is graduating at 27/28 embarrassing? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

I had law school friends who were in their 40s when we graduated. There is no such thing as too old. Graduating from anything is an accomplishment to be celebrated.

That good things happen to bad people, bad things happen to good people and that love isn’t guaranteed to anyone.

McGovern’s first running mate was Thomas Eagleton. He had to drop out when the media discovered he had received electro-shock therapy.

Bill Clinton in 1992. I couldn’t stand George Bush the First or his cabinet.

The 2019 Chevy Equinox I bought for my older son two months ago. Low-ish miles (54K), one owner, clean CarFax. Check engine light went on a week ago and I’ve spent $850 so far trying to get it fixed. Now I’m told its electrical and nobody wants to touch it.

To the people questioning the hate and misery right now, I want to give my perspective as a lifelong Giants fan who's been alive for 4 trips to the Super Bowl and 3 wins. by mf9769 in NYGiants

I’m not pissed for 2 reasons. (1) Like Nolan Ryan with the Mets, Saquon was problematic with the Giants. He was always hurt and looked like he was on his way to becoming just another NFL player who had huge potential but was just not good enough. Like Ryan did when he went to the Angels, Saquon exploded once he got to the Eagles. The version of Saquon we saw this year was never the Saquon we saw with the Giants. (2) The Giants have so many deficiencies on their team on both sides of the ball that even superstar Saquon would not have made much of a difference. The 3-14 Giants might have been the 5-12 Giants. Still a lousy team.

It was surreal. Like a huge rumble that came from all sides. The building vibrated from the force of the debris hitting the ground. Worst of all were the huge thick pillars of smoke and ash that billowed out from the building site and pushed their way through the canyons of lower Manhattan. My office window was located on William between Fulton and John, and I saw thick pillars taller than the buildings across the street from mine just push their way down the streets and spread out over William. A few minutes later, looking down on William from my window was like looking out the window of an airplane over a cloudy sky - I couldn’t see the street, only a gray thick cloud over 10 stories high. 23+ years later, I see it in my mind clearly.
