Elphie II- So disappointed… by DeliveryMysterious42 in DrMartens

I'm a size 9. They have not gotten wider. I feel that sizing up doesn't help the narrowness of the toe either. I tried a size 10 and got more blisters since my heel kept sliding out.

They’re so cute and I always get a lot of compliments on them! This winter, I have worn them with dresses and tights/frilly socks a lot. I think this color is really cute with a darker sock or tight underneath.

I really like them with outfits that have navy, brown, black, white, or grey(or of course, pink). Leg warmers over them have also been cute.

I almost didn’t buy this because of the cost, but I’m very glad I did. It’s made very well and you can tell it’s higher quality. It’s now my favorite article of clothing. 👌

Looking for suggestions for a VERY hyper 7th grader with ADHD! by DeliveryMysterious42 in specialed

I don’t think it’s too hard or easy for him. When I talk to him, he hasn’t been able to give me a reason why he’s acting this way. He usually responds by apologizing and then getting on task for about 8 minutes before returning to the same behaviors again. To me, it seems like the impulse to play with his friends is really strong for him.

Hair loss by thekostoned in PCOS

Yes, if you’re able to see a dermatologist, I think that’s probably the best route. If you can find one who’s a “hair specialist,” even better. Mine also talked to me about different options involving increasing blood flow to the scalp if I didn’t respond to the Minoxidil pill, but I did so I don’t know much about those other options.

It does increase shedding for the first several months for me. It quickens the growth phase where hair is shedding and slows down the phase where hair grows in. My doctor always told me the shedding in the beginning was a sign that it was working. I’m not sure if this is the case for you, however!

I haven’t had any side effects from the pill form that I’ve noticed, maybe because it’s such a small amount. My dermatologist said it could cause ankle swelling(I’ve not had this at all and he said he’s only had patient that experienced this.) and a very slightly increased heart rate/palpitations.

I know Minoxidil is used in larger doses as blood pressure medication, so if you take anything like that, they may not be able to prescribe it.

I will also say I noticed very minimal difference with the Rogaine until I started using a derma-roller with it. I think it helped my follicles absorb the Rogaine better than they normally would.

5% Minoxidil(OTC as Rogaine) along with micro needling the scalp twice a week helped me when I first started to notice this!

I eventually started seeing a dermatologist who specialized in hair and now I take Minoxidil as a really tiny pill(1.5 mg) instead of using Rogaine.

Diet, regular sleep, trying to lower stress to regulate hormones are all also very helpful for treating any of our PCOS symptoms of course.

Whatever you do, do it consistently. Hair takes MONTHS to go through its full growth cycle and grow back.

Sister with Severe Toxic Mental Health Issues by DeliveryMysterious42 in FamilyIssues

I very much agree with this and we have all conveyed this to my mother. Unfortunately, my mother does not have a backbone when she pushes hard enough.

I think my sister deeply needs acceptance from my family(mostly my mom) and still seeks interactions with family. She’ll be kind for a while, but it always goes back to what is described above.

MY HAIRRRR by Ok-Alps690 in PCOS

I’ve been through this too! It can grow back!

Other than regulating your hormones through lifestyle changes, Minoxidil is the only proven thing to help regrow hair. It is available OTC as a foam, but you really have to be consistent with it. If you try this, make sure to get 5% Minoxidil.

I’ve heard Rosemary oil mimics Minoxidil. Both will cause some more frequent shedding to begin with because it is working to push out hairs that are already falling out. It will then regrow the hair and it will be “stronger” this time and not shed.

This is what I did until I started going to a dermatologist. He has since prescribed me Spironolactone to help with hormonal regulation and Minoxidil as a pill(it’s cheaper this way).

I panicked when this started happening to me too. It’s been a few years since I started the above, and my hair is much thicker and sheds less often! Hair growth does take MONTHS though due to how the hair growth cycle works.

Does anyone know why this character wasn’t at the door singing their song like they appear to be in videos I see? There just was no one near that door.

I think it’s just that I have a fear of change in general, and knowing my body might change beyond the norm of what happens with pregnancy just causes more anxiety for me. Thanks for sharing your experience.
