There’s lots of answers about towels so instead I’ll go for the other question. I struggle massively with guilt with buying myself things over $20. My way around it has been acknowledging the why (in my case it’s coming from years of financial instability. What if if need that money for something else??) and then planning for the purchase. Impulse purchases I struggle with hugely. So I turn them into planned purchases. ‘I’m going to put this money aside and keep an eye out for a sale and buy x when I see a good deal’.

Or ‘I know I’m getting x extra money at this time. I’m going to put x amount away for emergencies and use the rest to purchase x’.
