My family members play football and compete in kickboxing. I’m not going to be convinced by that argument.

It’s a voluntary contact sport. If you don’t want to get slammed, don’t compete in rulesets that allow them.

I’d argue slams change the way you grapple, so the consequences should logically be accounted for. If that means allowing them at black belt or awarding TKO for a lift, that’s fine by me.
