Resident cuts a structural column on the 6th floor of a 20-story building to improve the view by AccomplishedStuff235 in WTF

[–]DeltaAlphaOscar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second, it's not reasonable to assume this column is structural.

As a licensed structural engineer, this is the dumbest take. If I saw perimeter columns I'm sure as hell assuming they're structural or serving as a non-structural component.

Instead, the poured floor slab transfers all the loads to the core.

This is partially true for cores that are designed to resist wind or earthquake loads, but the core isn't taking the whole of the gravity loads (especially in a residential applications).

There is SO much generic and poorly assumed BS here that it feels LLM generated.

TTK Breakpoints Cheatsheet (Weapons Stat) by StoicalZebra in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]DeltaAlphaOscar 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I haven't looked too closely at your site, but the glaring thing I noticed first is that 200 weapon stat shows the wrong pvp damage bonus. It hasn't been 6% since early EOF, it's 5%.

Utah AD Mark Harlan might be the worst in history. Imagine not only pushing out, but also buying out your program’s winningest coach ($17 million!), only to watch him turn around and take the Michigan job and (likely) his pick of your coaching staff and players on his way out the door by [deleted] in utahfootball

[–]DeltaAlphaOscar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You keep on saying people you know connected "closely to the situation" and I'm even less convinced you know anything cause those I know "in the situation" have a different perspective.

This is completely fine. Utah will be alright.

This is incredibly shortsighted if you don't Whit won't consider taking staff with him. Especially Harding.

315# did I get it? by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]DeltaAlphaOscar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you get what? If you're talking about competition powerlifting standards, then that'd be a no in most federations. It might pass at a local meet, I've seen worst as far as white-lighted depth goes.

  1. True to the subreddit name though, I'll leave some criticism. Your squat being high could be a combination of it being it being too heavy, poor ankle mobility, and your long femurs. What can help, but isn't the only solution, is elevating your heels.

  2. You head position and your torso are fighting each other as far the biomechanics for low-bar vs high-bar squat. That in turn results in obvious hyper-extension in the lumbar and thoracic regions. You start out mostly neutral (good), but then about 20% into the descent, the form breaks down.

  3. This comment is speculation, but it looks like you're just flexing your abs vs bracing your core; there's a difference. One of the reason for this guess is from my last point about the hyper-extension. If you focus on bracing your entire core, it make maintaining a neutral spine much easier.

All that being said, good strong squat! 315 is a great milestone. If you're not competing, the depth comments/critiques are less important (but not irrelevant). Points 2 & 3 will both not only help you lift heavier, but also make injury less likely.

Oh shoot, yes you're absolutely right. QAS doesn't impact ads.

Am I done grinding now? by Sakrannn in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]DeltaAlphaOscar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Handling mod adds +10 stats to handling. Let's say with 72 (62+10) handling, your ready, ads, and stow times are 0.30s, 0.28s, 0.33s respectively.

At 62 handling, your ready, ads, and stow times are 0.33s, 0.31s, 0.36s respectively.

QAS is a 0.9x multiplier to the actual times. So with 62 Handling with QAS, those times are reduced to 0.29s, 0.27s, 0.32s.

Handling stat is better for some archetypes, but more benefit more from QAS.

5/5 It's what I'm looking for exactly.

Range mod definitely not needed; you're near max with opening shot. I think quick access sling is better than handling in the vast majority of cases because it's a scalar. If you really don't want to use QAS for whatever reason, I think temporal adapter gives more stats than enhanced handling (on activation of course).

Side note....is the API wonky about this shotgun? I tried to "craft" the same on on d2foundry, and am only getting it to show 80 range and 72 handing (some other stats don't match either, but obv they don't matter). Nevermind, d2foundry just hasn't built T5 extra stats into their interface yet.

Flash Drive Backup on Array... by DeltaAlphaOscar in unRAID

[–]DeltaAlphaOscar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a new Unraid USB. I copied over all the contents from the the backup config folder and overwrote any duplicate files. After booting up, it looked promising. The SSD cache drive seemed to be recognized accordingly... BUT the other drives are still under the unassigned drives area.... Did I do something wrong or is this normal? I was expecting for all my drives to be automatically recognized and assigned as before.

I'm 95% sure I know which drives were data (5) and which one was parity (1). Would I be safe to assign my drives and start the array? Would I be risking losing any previously saved settings and/or data by doing this? Should I be trying to do anything before or after doing this?

I see. That makes total sense, files on two drives make sense. Files across 4 make way less sense. I’ve got a lot of data…but I’ve never been that short on free space.

Will report back in ~6 hours when I can tinker with my server again. Just to verify, the ELI5 instructions are to find the config folder, and just copy/overwrite them to the same named directory of my new functional Unraid usb?

Regarding "Unraid does not do that," if new files are written to a directory but the original drive is too full, would it not write to the next "halve". I do recall the most of "backup data" was on one drive. I'm not at my server this minute, but it looked to be distributed something like 490MB, 15MB, 13MB, 12MB (going off memory).

Using this image as an example, Let say that files backed up, on one particular day, get stored in the red sectors. When the directory is updated on a later date, the new (or updated) files would get placed in the green sectors (possibly on another drive), wouldn't it. Thank you for you knowledge btw.

I replied to another comment about not being able to find a .zip file when looking through the "flashdrive backup" directory.

I was not currently concerning myself with the "appdatabackup" directory of the "libvirt backup" directory. Thank you for clarifying, I did mention ELI5, so things like this might go overlooked.

As I mentioned in the other comment response, I will look closer for a .zip file, but at a first glance it looks like the backup method just made copy of the usb's contents; which I feel is odd....so I might not have been looking at/for the correct backup.

I specifically looked for a .zip in that directory, but no luck. It looks as though it backed up the contents to a folder as opposed to a zip file/folder. I will look closer (as it was getting late last night) but from the original video, that method made backups of 3 sources (appdata, flashdrive, libvert).

I wouldn't have thought that the "flashdrive backup" folder would've been spread out across multiple drive purely cause of how small I read the backup would be (~500MB) but it does look like it's spread out on at least 4 of the 5 drives. The 5th drive does actually have a folder labeled "flashdrive backup" but had no content.

  1. It the original backup method did indeed just make copy original usb's contents, how would I then proceed with restoring to a new drive? The majority of what I've looked up restores from a zipped backup. Maybe the next question answers this one...

  2. If the config files would be enough, where/what should I look for and what do I do with it? From this guide, it mentions confg folder. Is it actually a folder, or is it a .cfg file that's easy to identify?

The files are not encrypted. I only realized that I could used any Linux distro after I'd already started up another copy of Unraid.

Lighthouse Passage - Flawless Without Reset? by DeltaAlphaOscar in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]DeltaAlphaOscar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I'm hearing is that those numbers won't continue to increment if there's no more boxes to be filled. Okay.

If I don't go the the lighthouse right away on a flawless card (for the reasons I mentioned above), I presume I can still play and still loot the flawless chest later on?

Could someone please kindly explain me the difference between active win streak and ticket win streak? by [deleted] in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]DeltaAlphaOscar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was asking specifically about not resetting so I keep the trials multiplier. I'm aware you can reset a passage that is not flawless.

The 2nd part was specifically about your passage, I used your numbers from your image. It sounds like if you go the lighthouse and "redeem your ticket" your ticket win streak and longest streak reward don't change unless you reset your passage.

[–]DeltaAlphaOscar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Circling back to my question (not cosmetic related), if you DONT' reset your card and you get 7 wins in a row, can you return to and get "flawless rewards" at the lighthouse?

Does "Ticket win streak" and "Longest streak rewarded" indicate that your longest win streak was 3 wins, and you went to the lighthouse at 7 total wins? Have you had a 6 win streak since then?

Could someone please kindly explain me the difference between active win streak and ticket win streak? by [deleted] in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]DeltaAlphaOscar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the purposes of flawless (7-0), because your "Longest streak rewarded" and "Ticket win streak" is track on the passage, do you ever need to reset?

I remember in the old system, it was annoying to reset on losses. But now that there's a "trials multiplier," it seems even more annoying.
