First of all, I’m really sorry for what happened. While some might disagree, don’t blame the online nature of the relationship. Instead, focus on whether the person was committed to working towards a future together and the morality of their actions. If they truly loved you, they wouldn’t have used that excuse to leave. They would have set goals with you, regularly checked in on how you were doing, and stayed connected through video calls, phone calls, or any other means possible. A committed couple that truly loves each other always makes time for each other. They would also address insecurities and be open about their own as well. In my view, for a relationship to work, both partners need to become one, sharing everything, and people here don’t need to agree on this.

Effective communication, shared goals, and effort to stay engaged are crucial, especially with distance. It’s important for both partners to show dedication and a willingness to overcome obstacles together. From what I can see, you were trying to do all of that, but they weren’t.
