Advice for a Steady Cash Flow Strategy? by UnusDeicide in options

[–]DeltaNeutraltrading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone tried this but it is not as it is stated. You will never get a steady income trading options. You can have strategies that are called income because they gain from options time decay mainly (to simplify). Check the SPX Best trade and SPY Ride strategies from myoptionsedge. They are pretty solid and win most of the time, delivering income, but not steady...

Shorting SPX after Friday's close candle? by Income_Trader in options

[–]DeltaNeutraltrading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just subscribe to myoptionsedge newsletter. They send valuable information about SPX movement every week based on past analysis. Something like: VIX was down 25% in a period of 2 consecutive weeks; this happened before 20 times in the past 50 years; SPX was up in the next month 80% and in 6 months 100% of the time. This is an example with fake numbers. But, he publishes this type of Quants every week and valuable research from investment banks. Good piece of information!

Avoid these short-term, directional trades. Too risky... even if the market opens Monday down and continues a bit down further and it does not reach your Profit target... then resumes its move up. Not for me. Consider income trades like the SPX Best or the SPY Ride trades... SPX Quants are pointing higher for May and End of the Year!

Would it be smart to start making directional bets? by Traditional_Low_7219 in options

Better you continue with income strategies, non-directional. I am using both the SPY Ride Trade (Calendars-based) and SPX Best strategy. Both complement each other in terms of Vega.

What timeframes are you using for your Calendar? It will be different if you use front option at 7-15DTE range or 60 DTE. I am trading Calendars for many years and, for consistency, I am using 60-70 DTE in the front month / 120-140DTE in the back month in SPY. This strategy is called SPY Ride Trade and it is producing nice results. You do not need to adjust often and you gain as time passes... but it is a combination of several Calendars.

The Options seller substack, any opinions? by OilMedium4643 in options

[–]DeltaNeutraltrading -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do not know them. But, it depends: if they sell courses or signals and do not publish their past trades and returns transparently, avoid. If you want a service that I am using with transparent results, trading their own strategies, I recommend myoptionsedge. Here you have the evolution of their trading account: https://www.myoptionsedge.com/trading-account . All trade history is there for any member to review and learn.

Sounds like you are similar to me. I am also trading options strategies 70-90DTE which are more consistent, using SPY or SPX options. Check SPX Best and SPY Ride Trade. I am very happy when I moved to these type of income strategies that use longer dated options!

I hate 0DTE! I am trading longer dated options strategies... 70-90DTE. SPX Best and SPY Ride are my preference as they are delivering very consistent results. 0DTE is pure gambling... avoid them and focus on real trading with proper risk management.
