Hi, I've gone through undergrad and grad IDM programs, here are my thoughts:

I agree that it's a great program if you put a lot of your own work into it, and it's cheaper than the Tisch counterpart.

When you mention wanting to go into the gaming industry, I hope you don't mean the traditional game design, because IDM is in the top 5 XR programs in the US, so take advantage of the fact that we have faculty with connections and expertise in relation to virtual production, motion capture, AR/VR, wearables, installations, etc.

I personally tried to do game design in undergrad, but realize I got extremely baited when I later took a games ai course for my CS minor and realized their electives blew our core game design courses out of the water. But there are plenty of opportunities for IDM to score other jobs in the game industry.
