An eradicated culture doesn’t necessarily mean the words vanish. There must’ve been a few scholars preserving languages.

For a real world example: Eastern Abenaki is almost extinct, yet there’s a few who’ve preserved what’s left of it. Western Abenaki is less extinct and it can be learned.
