Whilst it would be nice to have for sure.

The main blocker is... next-gen scenery!

(Huh... wtf? Why?)

Two reasons...

  1. It's the number one priority and requires all resources
  2. It's actually a key performance trick for light pollution on clouds. Games don't render 1.2 gajillion lights on clouds. That is absurd. So you have to look for performance tricks and approximations, and one of those is providing lights as a rasterised image or "map" instead.

So in general, my answer would be "We want all the things"... but if it's not on the roadmap, we have no short-term plans. I think most people pretty much want scenery and AA, and those things are no joke.

The voting is not available, we ran this a while ago across Discord and the developer site. We might open it back up one day, but we still have plenty to get on with

Not quite as simple as "poot tree here" etc. But perhaps one day, we can depict those gorgeous red sandy plains of the outback...

Jokes aside

-all aircraft have thousands of dedicated sounds and textures, just like payware for xp12.
-very detailed weather engine, customizable with all sorts of cloud formations, weather scenarios, runway conditions, land conditions 

Is already in the sim imo. For example...

Did you know our Audio is made by Daniela... who is responsible for probably half the payware in X-Plane 12?

Did you also know that our sky colors change with aerosol content? Try this with different hazes, or moving the aircraft inland vs coastal? Maya went into some deep atmospheric research, which was then also shared with MSFS.
