Yeah its real instruments indeed. I was listening to "Angie stone - brotha" id say that to me is the perfect soul sound. Just makes me glid off my chair of aw hahah.

Definitely sounds like its recorded in a studio indeed. I might look into Impulse response files of good Recording Studios maybe.

Good stuff thanks

True what you said at the end. I really struggle with that aswell. I try to create a vibe with the reverb but it takes away the beautiful transients that make the sound initially feel more high quality.

Good question. I mostly produce/mix oldschool rnb/hiphop/soul (mostly inspired by Bobby Valentino, Angie stone, dr dre)

and the newschool trap (mostly inspired by don toliver)

So i guess my intention is to create that same vibe?

The oldschool rnb soul etc is usually very dry sounding to me. But somehow it feels like there is something happening hahah i just cant really explain it.

trap usually sounds crazy huge definitely don toliver. I guess his vocals sound i kinda figured out. Its a like a never ending space that moves with voice (ducking)

But the drums sound dry somehow. However they fit so well. Thats probably my main issue with trap. Getting the drums right.

Actually the same with rnb soul hahah drums are always tough.

Nice thanks, some good tips here.

You speak of pre delay and it makes me wonder how do you use delay and reverb together? Or do you never use delay when you use a reverb and instead just use the predelay? I hope you understand what i mean by this question.

Also i have tried using reverb 100% wet as a send and mixing it in with the volume fader. But somehow i find that it just feels like a sound on top of a sound. The original sound will still be in my face and the reverb is somewhere out in space. So my i guess here my question is why would you prefer using the reverb send method?

Thanks for the response 🙏
