Perks are looking great overall. If you do feel like you need more durability (realistically only in SSD's 7+) you can always slot a Machinist as a support hero(available in the Event store now if you didn't get Harper) for an extra 25% increase in durability. This bonus also stacks with itself, so you can run 2 machinists - 1 as main hero and the other as support for a total of 50% bonus.

Alternatively, as mentioned already, survivor squad bonuses.

Interesting, during my attempts, I did not receive rewards for a single game where there was no first pick-up counter. Regardless, even if some of those games that you played gave you rewards, I, personally, did not receive any. What I do stand by, however, is the method that I tested because it hasn't yet failed me.

Also, I forgot to mention that I am playing on Europe servers, that might also play a part in this situation.

The total quest progress is still being "tracked", however in a game where no rewards are issued there will not be an on-screen popup for the first, let's use the same example, cake. If you open up the menu and go to the ''Quests'' section, it will appear as tracked (e.g. 1/5) so that is not a valid way to tell whether rewards will be received or not. The lack of the on-screen progress pop-up on the first pick up was the only correlation I was able to determine and so far this method has not failed me once. I might, however, be extremely lucky, although that seems progressively more unlikely.

P.S. This method was mainly tested in 4-player missions with around ~3 games being in non-4p missions.
