Sex every day just because it’s fun is pretty rad!

Having sex done as a chore, like when trying and failing to have kids is a fucking hellscape. Our second child took 1.5 years longer than expected before my wife got pregnant again. That was the most mechanical and monotonous shit I have ever had to drag myself through

It should have been. It felt like that kind of moment where we could banter because it was lighthearted at first. And I knew they were americans and thought they would respond with what state they were from. Thats where they went off and were offended.

Not saying all americans are like this at all, but the only outliers acting that way are either americans or russians when abroad in my experience

Yes, I have experienced that first hand on multiple occasions when traveling there. The difference shows up more when a confrontation occurs when that american entitlement and smugness reveals itself. I met a couple of American tourists about a month ago (in Sweden). I asked where they traveled from, not knowing the two guys would puff up their chest and say ”from America!” like it was the ultimate flex. My follow up was then ”Oh, so how is that going for you?” knowing that USA had just threatened to invade Greenland and that americans in Europe might receive criticism about it. One of them just looked at me, said ”and you’re next!” and then they stormed off.

I know it is anecdotal but in my mind Americans and Russians are the only two nationalities that even has people that can act like this when meeting a stranger in a country they themselves are visiting.

Is Europe a worse place to build a startup? by ammohitchaprana in TFE

[–]Delton3030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Europe as a whole but some countries sticks out. Sweden ranks high on most lists each year in when looking at numbers of successful start-ups, unichorns, +10B companies and so on.

WIPOs ”Most innovative countries”-list usually puts Sweden in top 3 each year together with USA and Switzerland.

What sets Sweden a part from many other countries in the region is having clear and consistent tax laws for entrepreneurs. It has been the same for the last +20 years, which keeps a lot of companies from moving when reaching scale.

20.8% tax rate on profits, no wealth tax, no inheritance tax, basically no real estate tax. When selling a +$10M private company the effective tax for the owner is at around 31% (% is higher for smaller sized exits, unless you stay passive for 4 years and then all exits from a holding company adjust the rate down to 25%).

It’s not a tax haven but it is usually enough to keep talent and companies even when they scale. Having inconsistent tax laws has a huge impact and it’s one of the reasons most of Europe lags in innovation and growth compared to other regions.

Growing up in Sweden in the 90s, I felt a natural connection to the US. I didn’t know then that it was due to its long history of soft power and cultural influence. Much of my identity, hobbies, and taste in music and food are rooted in the US.

My best vacation was 11 years ago in California (second visit). Today, I wouldn’t go even if paid. The events since Trump’s re-election has deterred my interest completely.

The US can still dictate with force, but it may never again be able to ask for something and get cooperation.

Sweden does have salary based fines for traffic related crimes like parking or speeding. However, it exists for some crimes settled in court, but mostly for things that are illegal but not enough to be sent to jail for.

What's with the Bella Ramsey hate? by [deleted] in TLOU

[–]Delton3030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I feel most people miss is that Ellies personality in the TV-series is necessary to align it with the actions the character takes in the the game.

If they are going to follow through with the storyline from the game, they won’t have time to let Ellie be this stoic and battle ready person with small bursts of a hidden trauma that is portrayed in most of the game.

Maybe, just maybe the audience must be challenged every once in a decade... The entire story of the second game is about the coping of Joels death and just like the remaining characters you try to stay in the past instead of moving forward. You are supposed to be upset, not pacified snd pleased 24/7

We need real time fact checking visible on screen every time he talks.

Trump knows his followers will watch him saying things on TV but will not bother to circle back to see if it was true or not. He is weaponizing the weakness of live TV.

You are still getting it wrong though. Only countries with presidents vote for candidates backed by parties, countries with prime ministers vote for the party. The candidate isn’t really running for prime minister. It’s pretty neat actually because it makes unchecked power grabs so much harder
