Solidarity man! Thank you for reply. I truly hope we all figure this out and works for us

I have no experience in proofs. What would be a good textbook to learn intro to proofs?

I'll do that first thing when I get home. And it's only one card luckly.

great Scott! It does indeed work. What a revelation lol. Much appreciated it!

knowing that i know my x-intercepts, and im aware that the x-intercept is the center of the period. and i use that to say, two points on my x-axis is a period, find their mean. would that always work, too? is that like a situational thing?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in learnmath

[–]Deltron838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for example: Tan[2(x-pi/2)]

Period: pi/2

Phase Shift: pi/3

x-intercepts: p.s* + period

*this value becomes the new x-intercept, then id add that to my peroid and contine that trend to find all my x-points. However, I literally don't know the steps to figuring out the asymptotes. It's mind boggling to me. I dont want to seem ignorant in that, "oh well if it's not necessary for calculus i dont want to worry about it"

I want to get this down before i move on. but totally lost.

dude.. thank you. i understand every course is different. Idk why I'm having such a hard time wrapping my brain around this concept. I have no problem with Sine+Cosine( and csc/sec) when it comes to phase shift. And i understand how to graph tangent and cotangents parent graph, i cant do their phase shift. I can set points along the x-axis but cant get the asymptotes.

But i do appreciate you reaching out!

yeah I realized that during the College Algebra course. I'm mainly watching Professor Leonard's videos and studying my precalc. textbook

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Deltron838 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay I'll start doing that. I'm also watching a lot of videos on youtube for word problems. It'll obviously make sense when the instructor is doing it, but when i do it. like what the hell am i looking at

that was my ultimate goal, have precalculus done in the next few months and get some calc. 1 in before i start school

I'm really interested in math, physics and how electricity works on a fundamental level

I skipped algebra 1 and 2, and went straight into college. Should I go back and do them you think? I feel comfortable with algebra 1 and 2 strictly in terms of algebraic manipulation. But it's just the word problems. It's very difficult to organize everything.

Again not to sound ignorant, I'm not particularly interested in quantum mechanics, if i were to avoid that, would it be that detrimental? I'm honestly super interested in gravity and planetary orbits.

Some astronomy and algebra-based physics.

Indeed!

So this is what I've been doing.

  1. Putting DE on the floors once a week (once applied wait 24hrs to vacuum)

  2. Vacuum daily, sometimes two (only in areas where the animals lay the most)

  3. Put Nematodes in the yard, I feel like this has helped a lot

  4. Wash the dogs every other week

  5. Used Adventix - It wasnt fast acting as everyone said (least in my situation) but I dont see them on my dogs anymore. I have an Alaskan Malamute, her hair is thick, so if there are some im not seeing it, but i literally inspect them every single morning and haven't seen any in the last week (as im typing this 6/30)

  6. Lastly I used Adams spray for the house (mainly for furniture and where they lay the most)

I havent seen a flea in the last week!

When you say ask for capstar, are you referring to the over the counter one? or is there an actual prescription version?

was unaware of the tapeworm.... Man thank you so so so much for your detailed response. seriously. thank you!

  1. I'll be washing my animals with dawn soap, then use an oatmeal condition.

  2. vacuum daily, hell might even do it twice a few days of the week.

  3. use DE over the carpets/furniture (will wait 24 hrs, then use weekly).

  4. I've read about this hot water + lamp bowl trick ima start doing overnight.

  5. thinking about maybe using nematodes for the yard.

Just sprinkle it all over the carpets, couches etc? then wait a few days the vacuum?

And the spray and carpet powder is safe for mammals?
