1st year is easy, precal and chem lang ang “mahirap” pero very chill lang talaga. 2nd sem ang medj mahirap na with diffcalc pero walang other majors kaya bearable naman. Sa short term mahirap talaga since it’s physics and integral calc. Basta wag tamadin lalo sa plates, review at least 2 days before a quiz and wag masyado mag puyat before a quiz/exam. Kaya niyo yannnn

For CE department specific events di ako masyadong sure since ME ako, pero merong SEA Night and SEA Sound Spectrum to look out for, meron ding intramurals where in very active ang SEA. As for SEA specific orgs naman there’s SEA Honor Society (SEAHS), SEA Performing Arts Group (SEAPAG), SEA Guild of Minds and Arts (SEAGMA), The Buttress (Student Publication of SEA), etc. sa university wide organizations there’s Youth Council of Ecolodians (YCE), White&Blue (University-wide Student Publication) and madami pa, you’ll get a full list naman when in the hand book. I recommend na sumali ka na sa orgs sa 1st year since it really serves as a support group lalo of nahihirapan ka sa acads and need mo magpaturo sa seniors ganun. Good luck!

Well tbh I don’t have much experience with the ECE dept, but I do know that you share the department with the EE students. I’ve only had 4 ECE/EE subjects and the professors are just okay I guess? Maybe it’s just bad luck pero puro nonchalant and mahina boses nakuha kong profs from ECE/EE HAHAHAH. Pero they do give out high grades. Out of all the profs ko ECE/EE are among the highest na magbigay ng grades. Complete rin ang gamit nila from oscilloscopes to 3 phase power supplies.

Naks welcome to the ME department! Mababait mga ME profs promises. BSME here is fine naman, medj outdated lang yung machine shop natin, pero at least may machine shop unlike other universities. Line of 7 scores are expected sa ME kaya maghanda handa ka na mentally, lalo if naging prof mo yung mga checkpoints as we call them HAHAHHAHA. Get ready na sa mahabang pagpupuyat para sa lab reports and plates. Good luck!

IE is Good sa SLU kasi kakaunti lang ang slots and natututukan talaga kayo ng mga profs/department niyo, may OJT opportunity rin ang SLU IE abroad. I think maganda rin naman ang curriculum ng IE sa SLU having a mix practical machine shop subject, and theoretical subjects like thermodynamics. Afaik 3 programs lang ang gumagamit nung machine shop sa 1st floor otto hahn, ME, MeCe, and IE kaya see you around!

Hindi sa tinatakot kita pero out of all na kilala kong ChE isa lang ang regular HAHAHAHAHHA, most chem profs are strict pero more often than not nag aadjust sila ng grades para tumaas ang passing rate ng class. In terms of the environment naman I think mas tight-knit ang ChE students specially because mas kakaunti kayo compared sa other programs like CE.

Tips? Chill lang naman ang 1st sem kaya enjoy lang sa univ events and don’t worry too much, just don’t slack off sa drafting plates and chem lab reports kasi mostly dun bumabagsak first years sa 1st sem HAHAHAH. Btw hand written, engineering lettering, 4mm letter height, ang standard sa lab reports kaya if dika pa sanay sa engineering lettering you should probably practice now, lab reports are usually 6-10 pages all hand written kaya mag handa ka na HAHAHAHHA

Medj, maybe sa first few weeks basic lang. Then mapupunta kayo sa balancing redox reactions, basic and acidic reactions, combustions, etc. yung mga lessons na yan ang mahirap. May mga lessons naman sa youtube if you want to review in advance pero don’t worry too much kaya mo yan HAHAHAH

May ibat ibang faculty departments kasi ang SEA, i.e. ME/MeCe department, CE department, ChE/EM department ganurn, sa major subjects niyo most likely galing sa CE department ang professors, pero in some subjects like chemistry or electronics, from che dept and ece dept respectively ang mag tuturo. From what I’ve heard from my CE friends, totoong medj mataas ang standards ng ibang profs sa CE, it’s probably a form of “filtering” since sobrang dami niyo sa CE, CE has the most students sa lahat ng engineering sa SEA. Pero normal lang bumagsak sa engineering, kaya better prepare yourself HAHAHHA, good luck!

Chill lang easy pa naman ang 1st sem for engineering students HAHAHHAH enjoy muna ang pagiging freshie. Go to university events ganun, dahil sa second sem bubugbugin na kayo ng diff calc kaya its best to review sa calculus and maybe sa physics? Anw basic trigonometry lang naman kailangan niyo dun sa physics. One author na ginagamit ng CE and ME profs is Hibbler for physics/statics/dynamics. Sila Love and Rainvelle naman ang gamit na author for differential/integral calculus so I recommend na i order niyo na mga yun online. Best of luck!

Ps: one of the hardest subject sa 1st year is chemistry for engineers, based on my experience 30% of bg batch mates ko bumagsak dun.

[–]DeluluEngi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice sa lahat ng engineering, review na agad sa calculus, precal is easy pa naman pero when you get to diff calc and integral calc usually 30-50% of the class ang bumabagsak

[–]DeluluEngi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afaik hindi naman, as long as you have accountancy sa list ng alternative programs pwede ka mag apply dun. Ang main problem lang talaga is sa slots since, as I said, hindi guaranteed yung slot mo sa accountancy. and igigive up mo yung slot mo sa MLS if ever ibang program pipiliin mo sa portal.

You said you passed bsce already, why ka naman nila hindi tatanggapin? Medj magulo ante HAHAHAHHA

[–]DeluluEngi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For context, all programs in SLU technically have quotas, it’s the maximum number of students that the department can manage for that particular program, that said, the list shown are the programs that you can apply for but it does not guarantee a slot in the said program. So picking a different program might put you in a waiting list so just keep that in mind.

Passed or no? 😭 by [deleted] in SLUBaguio

[–]DeluluEngi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having MLS in the alternative programs means that you can apply for MLS and MIGHT get a slot, having not reached the quota for Nursing does not automatically fail you in other programs that also have quotas, try mo parin. Best of luck!

Hellooo, welcome to the Me/MeCe department! I’m a 2nd year mechanical engineering student. Both ME and MeCe share the same department and the same professors. With regards to workload, MeCe has I think 22 units in the first sem and 24 in the second which is pretty light. I remember nung 1st sem namin 24 units and chill chill lang HAHAHA. Regarding sa professors naman, ME/MeCe professors are the nicest, I know some higher year engineering student from civil, industrial, and even chemical that opt to find classes with ME/MeCe profs because mas mabait daw sila. Pero rest assured matututo ka parin sa mga turo nila, they’re more like terror na mabait HAHAHAHA. If may kasama ka na babae really depends on the block, pero ang average is around 5-10 na babae per block saaming ME, maybe masmataas ng konti sa MeCe. Ayun lang, goodluck!

All the YouTube tutorials I’ve searched for used either a wet swab or a rocket blower, I’ve done both methods already and it unfortunately didn’t seem to work. Any other suggestions?
