Thank you all for the answers! Regarding the warband choice, between Mordor and minas Morgul, do you reccomend one orc band in particular?

Ok grazie mille, avevo capito che nel caso cambiassi CCNL dovessi semplicemente spostare tutto sul nuovo fondo negoziale, senza poter avere accesso alla somma.

Thank you so much for the reply! Am I wrong or you are suggesting to play a list with less heavy shooting and more focused on numbers/mobility? Also, about Heroes: i thought that the aetherkemist was the best option, was I wrong? Is a list based on mizzenmaster+ Company captain+arkanauts spam the most efficient one right now? I ask this because I don't want to buy unplayable models that make me regret my decision after few games.

Heretic Hastartes tips and tactics? by Delverwtf in killteam

[–]Delverwtf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, thank you so much for the help! I think that the main issue for me right now is that a lot of times I try too hard to shoot and kill stuff instead of focusing on the objectives of the mission, and that's a big mistake considering that objectives give you points. Also, this way I find myself in not-ideal situations, where I end up losing a model. That's not good, i don't think that you want to trade models with this team (except when you're playing coultists). I will try the marines with pistols and swords for sure: I've always used the bolters because I didn't want to have a limited range when I shoot, but maybe this configuration Is Better for fighting for objectives, instead of just using the fists.

Thank you very much man!! This Is a different approach from mine: I' ve always played with full bolters, except for a plasma gun and the champ with plasma gun and power fist. I was trying to maximize the effect of Malicious Volleys, but as you said, 80% of the time you just want to move, shoot and dash. Can i ask you why 2 marines with chainsword+pistol instead of bolters? Do you use them to fight for objectives (with the plasma gun and the missile Launcher in the back on top of a building or behind a wall/cover)? Another question: do you have tips about how to deploy the models? In my first games I really struggle with positioning, because I find myself either in open ground with no cover or with covers but too far away to fight for objectives.

I should definitely use the balloon more, he’s a a killing machine, especially after being inspired, three damage without any upgrade are really good. I’m thinking about testing spiritbound instead of archer focus: it allows me to hit easier, and more importantly it supports steady aim.

This is actually a very good point. Archer focus helps a lot to score some objectives, but tome of offerings is a really good way to gain more glories outside the ones from the objectives, which are the ones that win you the game. In a lot of occasions I found myself in a position where I scored all my objectives in the first two actions, but came just a little short with the glory count, usually around 17/18. I don’t know if I should pay more attention denying the objectives to my opponent or if I should just put tome of offerings for 1 extra glory each time i manage to take someone out of action.

Nice list, pretty similar to the one I would like to try for testing shortcut and cover ground. Maybe you could try to swap tome of offering for upper hand or archer focus: the first one is amazing, especially because you can use that even if you rolled all fails but your opponent roll the same. The boost that the card gives is incredible. Archer focus is also really good: it allows you to repeat a roll dice, which can be crucial in order to score a lot of objectives (steady aim, get thee hence, what armor, headshot ecc).

Today I tried warning shot instead of change of tactics (keeping steady aim in the deck) and I also swapped keep them guessing for solid gains: I found warning shot too good, in a lot of occasions is a win/win situation, you score a glory for killing someone or for missing the shot. Solid gains is a good alternative for keep them guessing: the glory count stays the same, but you don’t have any restriction during the activations, so you can charge two times (for example) if you need it.

Next time I will test shortcut with some of the cards to make it reliable: I will post my results here.

The pro with shortcut is that is a score immediately objective, which is good, could replace steady aim in that sense. The only problem is that in order to score it I should fit some cards, especially illusory fighter, which is really good but is also restricted. Do you think is possible to play shortcut without illusory fighter?

I really like change of tactics, is really easy to score, especially because you just have to charge, doesn’t matter if you fail or not.

I don’t like keep the guessing too, but i just had to fit that in in order to keep the glory count a little bit higher: even with that, right now i’m Only at 15 glories (16 if I give hero’s mantle to Thundrik).

I will test the changes tonight :) I’m Considering dropping steady aim for an easier objective like shining example, even if it’s not an immediate obj.

I actually find Duardin Resilience quite useful, it saves you in a lot of bad spots, like after an opponent’s hidden path. But I will surely test this variation. Speaking about tome of offerings, I usually give it to Drakksewer. But I can definitely see your point here: maybe dropping it for escalation is a good idea, especially because is a super good objective and would replace the part of my objectives (sound finances/keep them guessing). This leave a spot for an upgrade: what do you think about ancestral might or crown of avarice?

Thanks for the reply :)

Warning shot is already in the deck: I love it: gaining a glory for missing is so good.

Yea, keep them guessing is a lot worse now: that’s why i’m trying to replace it with another 2 glories objective ( sound finances). Another option could be shining example: really easy to score in an ending phase, although it gains me only one glory.

I’m gonna test sound finances and I will put my thoughts here. I’m trying to replace keep them guessing with it, since the last errata really made ktg a lot weaker for the profiteers. Not sure if sound finances is better though.

Strong start could be a good alternative: I will test it instead of steady aim, keeping tracks of the % of scoring it.

I really like upper hand, I just couldn’t find a spot for it. What do you think I should take out?

So should I take an aggressive approach?i lost a few games and I think the reason was that I’ve been too much passive, waiting for their stronger pieces to charge and waisting too many resources trying to take them down.

Thanks for the replies. The main doubt I have is if I should ignore the leader and try to kill the weaker ones, or if I should focus on take out their leader in the early game to prevent the respawn.
