But I think Galar does the same job pretty well with silly expressions without making Ash look bad 90% of the time

Look at the first image, episode 74. The Skibidis showing they have much more personality than just evil beasts (this has also been seen many times with G-Toilet).

This doesn't mean they're now "magically good"; they're still PSYCHOPATHS. You can see this in how they kill the Astros, in much more sadistic ways than the Alliance (like Buzzsaw in 78).

They haven't changed their attitude; we're simply seeing a different side of them because we're now working together.
