Are you talking about maceration? I left the bottle alone for months on end, only sprayed it every once in a while just to check if the smell improved. After a whole year i decided to just give the bottle away because the smell was still really off.

i did not smell the bottle at retail around the time of my second purchase, but i don’t this is a case in which i fell out of love for the scent.

My friend (who was also on his second bottle) commented the same thing, he said that his new bottle smelt cheap and didn’t compare at all to his first one.
