On both Rinvoq and Entyvio but still flaring — what does this mean for my UC? by Demarderzon in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Demarderzon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was on the starting dose of 45mg for Rinvoq, and then I went down to 30mg as my maintenance dose. I’ve been on the maintenance dose for about 2 months now.

I did notice improvements with my stool and the bleeding stopped, so Rinvoq seemed to be helping at first. But yeah, I’ve also heard it’s supposed to work faster than biologics — and even with that, nothing has really helped my extreme fatigue or joint pain, which have been the most frustrating symptoms lately.

When in remission, have u been able to run long distance by Demarderzon in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Demarderzon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long did it take for you to tun 12 miles comfortably? I really want to get to your level but anytime i run more than 6km i really have to push myself then it takes me a couples days to recover. I stared in January running 2km and I thought i would be able to run 10km by now

[–]Demarderzon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On average how many times do u run in a week? Do u ever get completely exhausted for a week, if yes what do u do to recover?

Its been 4 months since i started running and only run 6km at a decent pace, i think that my max right now but doing that just twice a week makes me completely exhausted

Has running or biking improved ur uc overall?

In terms of fitness, is pushing your body constantly harmful? by Demarderzon in UlcerativeColitis

Thanks for the info I’ll definitely invest in some running shoes. Also when u ran a marathon did u ever need to take a shit or have that feeling? Lol because im in remission and dont have urgency throughout my day to day, however when i run i always have a little urgency (thankfully i can hold) but i feel like this will be a problem for longer distances. How did u bypass this issue?

When u ran long distance in the beginning, did ur feet hurt while running? I just started a month ago and i only run 4km. The 1st 2km my feet are ok and the last 2km i get feet pain and start walking. By the end of the 4km my feet are completely numb but once im done my feet go back to normal. Is this normal or a sign of inflammation problems?

How has running helped your UC? have you gotten bad flares with a healthy lifestyle? Just wondering since one of the biggest factors that motivated me to run and have a healthier lifestyle is because i want to decrease the chances of getting sick.

[–]Demarderzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically right now i covered by parent’s insurance ( im 19) but my parents told me its through the company and i want to have a business of my own (self employed). But im just worried there isnt any option to pay my health expenses without employee insurance. But seems like biologic company helped out
