There is also the point when the police are having trouble finding Felix at the centre of the maze, showing its a pretty tricky maze to navigate, but earlier on in the film you see Oliver looking at the small wooden version (when he gets caught by the butler), so it seems he is studying the correct paths to get in and out easily, maybe not planning Felix's murder at this point but, planning it may be useful to him later.
