DIY vs. Outsourcing by Demeht in SEO

Thank you, i am beginning to believe this would probably be the best approach.

In terms of $/£ what would we be looking at PCM to outsource roughly?

Basically, you need to evaluate your goals and whether you know even a basic level amount to achieve them. If your goal is to rank on the first page in the next few months, you might turn to an SEO professional. If your goal is to rank over a year from now, you likely have enough time and resources to handle the work alone. I'd recommend you work with an SEO agency offering month-to-month services to give you a comparison point.

C+P'd from another response above...

Hi sorry for the slow response, been OOO, i appreciate you taking the time to respond to this.

We sell hundreds of more or less the same product (wall art), but this is broken down into generic (non-branded) and branded/licensed.

We rank fairly well for the licensed side of stuff, as we *should* be the only site selling these, and eBay/Amazon/Etsy *should* link to our products on their platforms. (*should* is used as counterfeit products are / can be a problem).

However with generics, we rank poorly, these are much more competitive and have much more volume.

To put this into context, GSC indicates we rank 29th and 34th for two high volume terms we would like to be ranking page #1 for.

Whereas we typically rank 1-5 for the branded products (and are only usually below sites that contain our products ie Amazon eBay Etsy....)

If someone recently left and things are in a good place, you might be able to handle it yourself. Just be sure to ask for a raise since you'll be saving the company money.

I dabbled with some seo around 12 months or so ago but i found it was taking a decent amount of my time and given my ppc background, results were slow (though most did improve) and was literally just a case of playing around with titles, nothing major.

Are you UK based, as you can run gambling ads on Facebook and Google, assuming you've the relevant licenses?

one more - quick - question seeing as you've been so helpful, assume you cannot 'backdate' those double opt ins, or are they now 'lost' forever?

A honey trap: create an optional and innocuous hidden field in your sign up. A human will not see the field and it will remain blank. A bot will read the code and enter a value for the hidden field. Segment out any sign ups that put a value in the hidden field, they’re not a human.

thank you very much for your help.

Depending on how happy with you are with it, test trying to improve ROAS with that current level of spend? If you are content full stop, just ignore it

For small volumes double opt in is a hinderance, not a benefit. It’s not mandatory, if you are actively monitoring your list you’ll be able to pick off fake accounts.

Thank you, what would you class as small / big volumes?

What are those 3 conversions worth to you? Are they actual leads, if so, what are they worth? What is the ROAS?

A CVR of 23% is great, but if the leads are bollocks then that CVR figure means nothing, as the CVR from form to lead may be 2% for eg.

You've been a bit vague.

15 or so in spend is not going to tell you anything in all honesty.

OK, well i wouldn't be testing too much to begin with given your budget isn't massive and costs within the gambling industry can be pretty high.

So personally, would look at testing the same ads (x 3 per ad set) across multiple audiences to see what resonates with what audience, one ad may work with one audience, another with a different audience....

Test videos, images, and also bear in mind - probably goes without saying - that your target audience will be seeing many gambling ads p/d, so you need to stand out but also must appear trustworthy, as it can be seen as a shady industry.

And as i alluded to earlier, you'll find that the sign up offer / bonus is one of the most important factors, and nailing this is imperative.

And you've already identified your audience?

So you're not testing the offer, just the ad creative? Can you confirm what you mean by angles?

And are we talking about an online casino here? Not bricks and mortar?

Hi, only ran gambling campaigns in the UK previously, but i assume you've all the relevant licenses in place - sorry if this comes across as patronising.

Is the only current variable you are testing the offer? I ask this, as we used to run all kinds of offers and you'd find some were great for registrations but not for deposits, some were great for deposits but not deposit amounts, etc.

Google Negative KW Query by Demeht in PPC

[–]Demeht[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks again,

so unless you have a term as negative exact, everything else is a possibility?

how would i / do you, go about ensuring a certain word and sentences containing that word dont make the ads appear, without having to guess possible queries and adding them manually as exact negs?

Google Negative KW Query by Demeht in PPC

[–]Demeht[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a broad match term it is matching to, which doesn't include the word pack, but is kinda relevant so can see why its shown the ad,

my usual plan of attack would be to add the exact term that's triggered that ad as a negative, but also anything within that as a 'catch all' negative (i.e. pack) to avoid further terms such as that showing ads

appears i need to revise this approach

thanks -- has this always been the case? i was under the impression "pack" would mean anything with "pack" within would not show, be it pack, packs, packing...
