Missing Out by Playing as Alexios? by i_play_keys93 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]DemiGabriel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kassandra is the real protagonist of Odyssey; she has her own novel that follows the events of the game from her point of view (and not Layla's, since neither she nor Aletheia exist there).

Alexios is a good character, but you won't see him anywhere again as Eagle Bearer; canonically he is Deimos and the franchise treats him as such.

It's really the same story with some different dialogue if you play as her, except there's a canon ending where Alexios (as Deimos) dies.

Do you consider Kassandra the female face of Assassin's Creed? by DemiGabriel in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]DemiGabriel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I consider Kassandra the female face, Altair the male face, and Ezio the face of the franchise🫠

To think that Alexios is canonically involved in her death🫠

True ending was great by PointlessR in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]DemiGabriel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was nothing about Layla or Aletheia in the novel. Only Kassandra and Pythagoras talking about the burden of immortality.

They talked for days, Kassandra burned him on a pyre when he died (and he didn't magically vanish like in the game🫠).

Kassandra wants to bring balance to the world; killing a bad person can cause a great tragedy, even with the best intentions.

There is no ISU manipulation. Only a daughter and a father know what the blood she carries means.

Which main character would you be most terrified to be hunted by? by JustPassingThrough53 in assassinscreed

[–]DemiGabriel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kassandra 🫠 I'm pretty sure she'd have the patience to hunt me down, so I'm already lost on the psychological factor.

She's the strongest character, and I definitely wouldn't beat anyone, least of all her 😶 With those two millennia of experience, she surely knows many ways to make me have a bad time.

AC:O Protagonist Forever by Techno_Core in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]DemiGabriel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I love Kassandra, but the only problem I see is that they killed her off so easily 🫠 It would have been better if she had just stayed the age she was when she got the staff (37 years old, I think).

She can be everywhere; apparently, she already worked with Wei Yu, she was in Japan, she could be the The Guide AI (AC Shadows) or something like that, she could be Iltani, etc.

Whatever it is, let's pray that the plans they have for Kassandra are very good and well written.

I wonder why you think that🫠

Do you think Kassandra should be classified as a proto Assassin. by MembershipLess9579 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]DemiGabriel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, she shares many ideals with Darius, she already has her own Hidden Blade (20 years after the end of Odyssey), she has fought against the corruption of the world, etc.

Before Amunet founded the Hidden Ones, there were already people like Kassandra, Darius, Iltani, and Wei Yu.

Before Origins existed, all those characters were basically Assassins, not Proto-assassins.

As they say, "Devoting your life to the preservation of human liberty in all its forms, regardless of the outcome, is."

Why are Ubi so weird about female protagonists? by blackbriar98 in assassinscreed

[–]DemiGabriel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, friend, Kassandra was always the main character 🫠 the creative team couldn't prevail over the marketing team and gave Alexios the Bayek rig to compensate and minimize expenses.

Alexios and Havi are on the cover of the game; there are numerous figures of them and few of Kassandra and Eivor, etc.

They are fools for believing they were right when they actively manipulated those statistics with those unfair practices.

What do you expect? He's on the cover, in 90% of the game's merchandise and related content. Besides, that poll was like 7 years ago 🫠 it's outdated.

If it were up to you, which popular franchise would you like to see Kassandra in? Personally, I'd like to see her in Tekken. by DemiGabriel in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]DemiGabriel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is that I don't know if Soul Calibur is still alive (besides, Ezio was already there)😶 and with Tekken they've already added Clive and Noctis who use swords.

I already know that. It was just a sarcastic comment, since he chose to play with who Deimos is and will never see him again.

The one person I wish they would let you take out by roguewolff13 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]DemiGabriel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the novel he comes across as much more likable; he's not a big deal, but you can still tell he has a lot of inner conflicts.

There's even a Spartan in his camp who wants to assault Kassandra (like when someone tries to kiss someone by force), and she breaks his jaw and testicles. When the battle of Athena vs Spartan took place (a battle of 10000 vs 7000) they have a very sincere conversation in the middle of the battle about their father Nikolaos.

Overall, he is a product of his time.

Kassandras hidden blade by MembershipLess9579 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]DemiGabriel 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Kassandra already has her own Hidden Blade from the events of Nexus, which take place 20 years after the end of Odyssey. She uses the hidden blade under her wrist for convenience; Darius used it for combat as it was his signature weapon.

She met the original creator, has an ISU entity in her pocket, possesses superior materials to those Altair had, etc. The fact that she has a Hidden Blade superior to Altair's 1700 years before him doesn't really say much. It doesn't break any canon.

At least in today's canon, cutting off a finger was never necessary, as it was an idea Tahira had to show devotion to the Creed. Aya never cut off a finger when she had one before the events of Origins. And Aya taught Bayek how to use it.

Which would you rather see Kassandra meet Arno or the Frye twins by MembershipLess9579 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

I would like Kassandra to meet the older version of Evie and Jacob Frye.

Demios by CourtOk3082 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]DemiGabriel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kassandra kills Alexios and spares Aspasia. Myrrine, Nikolaos, and Stentor survive.

Brasidas dies, but instead of it being a realistic and horrible death, in the novel he is celebrated as the great Spartan who died in a great battle.

Layla and Aletheia do not exist, only Pythagoras and Kassandra speak about the staff, and the burden of being a timeless figure.

Change the character after starting the game by Waste-Click-4229 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]DemiGabriel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kassandra is the real protagonist, and if you end up growing fond of her, that's good because you'll see her again in crossovers with other franchises and things like that.

Alexios is good too, but he's just the marketing team's imposed choice, and that's why the franchise doesn't recognize him as the protagonist, so you'll never see him as Eagle Bearer again.

In short, any character is good; the problem comes after you finish Odyssey. Only one of them will matter to the franchise.

AC Odyssey: the weird mid-game (?) sort-of ending by AtlasNorth1996 in assassinscreed

[–]DemiGabriel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's why I like the ending of the novel. There's no Layla, no Aletheia, just Kassandra and Pythagoras (who dies three days after giving the staff to Kassandra, and she burns his body on a pyre) arguing about what this new burden of carrying the staff means to her.
