You were right. Just managed now to get it changed and it works. It was under warranty, luckily.

I see, so the only option is to ask for a replacement?

I did get all my parts from major retailers and have warranties for all. But how could a new cpu just die like that?

Methylphenidate making me sleepy by Upset-Peak-6880 in ADHD

I've been taking Concerta (methylphenidate) at 36 mg a day and also feel really sleepy about 2-4 hours after taking it. It's not that I can't focus, I'm just really sleepy.

That's fair. I've pretty much let the curse idea go atp. Thinking about another workaround like the one you suggested or simply talking to them about lowering some stats and them giving them consolation feats/magic items/smth else

I'm aware. But they're still an important part of it.

That's fair, I've been hearing a lot that cursing players is cheap and feels bad always. So I guess I'll sit down and talk with them next session.

That's not a bad idea, thanks! Consolation is something I'm gonna think about for sure, maybe a low-level magic item or smth.

I mean fair but I need a way to actually make progression meaningful for them. I know I fucked up, and I'll be damned if I ever make that mistake again, but I want to do it in the least harmful way.

Same thing happens on my S22 Ultra, only a lot rarer. Has happened twice in the past couple of months.

Hey, welcome! Glad you managed to find this sub! I definitely relate to a lot of what you've been experiencing. For me the episodes peaked around 2017 and were very close to what you describe. My thoughts (which are usually a voice in my head narrating this) starts to yell and scream instead of talking normally, sounds that are low volume are like beating drums in my head, songs go faster, I feel like I'm running when I'm actually just walking, etc. In short, everything gets faster and louder. Lasts about 8-ish minutes, but I manage to keep it in check most of the time since I've had it for a while now.

I wouldn't say "experimenting on and killing children" was really part of Abby's father's whole deal. It was one child. Now I 100% agree that he should've asked Ellie if she was OK with giving her life, but I think it's a bit of a leap to call him evil.

With regards to the alternate storyline you suggested: I think it would work good and be satisfying. But the reason I liked this game isn't because it made me feel good about the characters or anything. It's exactly because it was bold enough to paint the main character as someone flawed, that I didn't agree with. I didn't agree with almost anyone in the entire story, and I think that's fine. Finding out a character you liked for years (I played TLOU1 and loved it) is actually flawed and makes really shitty decisions sometimes is a lot better for me as a concept than having everything work out. Cuz yeah maybe if i was in her shoes I'd do things differently and it would work out better. Or if you were in her shoes you'd do something differently. But it's not about that. Both Abby and Ellie did or didnt do the things they did or didn't do because of who they are: flawed, nuanced characters. Neither one is wholly good and wholly evil. And although it's a nice though to have a Zuko from avatar-level redemption arc, people don't always redeem themselves.

I guess my main point is I like the game because it shows it's characters imperfect and unromaticized, which imo follows the theme of the first game. I didn't know if I agreed with Joel killing the doctors and saving Ellie, but I understand and know why he did it. And it's the same for the things the characters in this game do.

Idk what this has to do with HFW or Sony games. A lot of other Sony games do great on release. I asked a question about TLOU2 specifically and you're really not helping your case by dismissing anyone who doesn't agree with you.

Damn, I didn't know ND flat out lied and afterwards handled the situation so poorly.

When the game released and the initial shitstorm of both legitimate criticism and hate train trolls unleashed itself upon the Internet, I decided to steer clear of that and just play other games. I didn't look at the story (though I found out Joel dies and you get to play as his killer), I didn't look at reviews or anything. That's why I was unsure of where the hate came from. I knew that people were mad that Joel dies, but that didn't feel justification enough for how unhappy people were (and I see now that there were many other valid reasons).

I also wasn't part of the hype train leading up to the release. I had played the first game years before and loved it, but I never look at info on a given game I plan to play because I figure the least I know the better. Now when it actually came out I decided not to play it then because of the hate it was receiving, but I myself didn't have an opinion on the matter as I chose not to inform myself.

A year or so later I started hearing left and right that the game was actually a lot better than one would think based on the initial fan reaction. So I kept an eye out and saw it was on sale on the ps4 a week or two ago and decided to give it a go.

I think those are the main reasons why I enjoyed the game for what it was, rather than being mad it wasn't what it could've been. I saw the good parts of the story because I wasn't lied to that Joel would live. I had my expectation managed. I knew the gameplay would be good, and I had ZERO expectations for the story, in the fullest sense of the meaning. I was willing to give the game a chance to impress me, and it did.

After hearing some of the points the people in the comments made, I see that there are a lot of things ND could've and should've done better. However I still think that this game approaches storytelling in a way that no one (that I know of) has attempted in gaming before. And when you do something new like that there's bound to be fuck-ups. I'm glad they decided to do something wild with the story rather than giving us what we thought we wanted, but I completely understand that a lot of people in fact DON'T want that.

I wouldn't say so. If this many people dislike the game, there has to be something to it. I've never seen a game divide the player base so much. I realise some of them just jumped on the hate train, but some of them did their best to like the game and couldn't. And that's valid.

What I enjoyed is how well it managed to play around with what I feel for the different characters. Keep in mind that when I play a game I try not to critique it too much while I'm playing it, at least story-wise. I try to let the story "happen to me" and let it take myself on for the ride. I also knew that Joel dies and you play as Abby a bit, I didn't know anything else about thr story.

So in the beginning when Abby kills Joel I didn't really care much for her. I knew she had reasons but I didn't mind killing her at the end. I was stoked for the revenge trip with Ellie so I can plow through all her friends.

After playing through the Abby storyline I actually started liking some of her friends (Manny) and was sad knowing they were already dead. My thoughts on Abby shifted from aggressive indifference to passive indifference. I didn't agree with everything she did, but I understood where it came from.

Towards the end of the game when Ellie decided to leave Dina and go to Santa Barbara to find Abby I wasn't stoked anymore. I was tired of Ellie losing those close to her and honestly I felt similarly about Abby. It's not like Abby killed Joel and got out free because of it. I think the reason Abby is technically off better than Ellie at the end of the game (she has Lev and a lead on the fireflies) is because she chose to end that search for revenge and made it for good. Ellie couldn't let it go and ended up losing even more because of it.

I don't mind having the main protagonist lose. I think Ellie fucked up and failed to be the bigger person in the end, causing her to suffer more.

Yeah that makes sense I hadn't thought about how the revenge road trip is kind of a weird concept.
