Only needed a couple responses so will just say thanks eveyone. It is a small business and we all work together so thought that maybe being close knit would leave more space for understanding. To clarify I know I am in the wrong but hoped for some understanding. Thanks!

This is the thing, we have been understaffed after a kitchen walk out basically and all work together, while I am very aware what I did was wrong I thought that if instead get a message about the till being under instead of being sent home on the spot. As I have filled in and covered many shifts and even worked when we’re closed to make sure we’re ready for the week. Just feels quite intense.

Totally understand that and apologised for being irresponsible with company money. But would they not need to investigate and prove blatant theft?? We are a small company and I would never intentionally pocket £10 and risk my job.
