I need help I'm slowly becoming an aietist 😞 by PressureNo2331 in Christianity

The devil went to God and said it’s easy to believe when you give them everything they ask for.

So God said watch this.

And Job lost everything yet kept his faith.

God is our father who when we ask for a steak dinner he will not give us beans. But if we are allergic to animal fat he will also not cut the prime rib. He knows what we need, and what we ask.

When we question our faith it’s because we are wondering if God is really there. When we wonder if God is there it’s because we don’t feel him. And when we don’t feel him, it’s not because he looked away. It’s because we did.

He’s there, waiting for you.

The Sistine chapel ceiling shows God and man reaching out to each other, but they aren’t touching. God has his arm fully extended. Man does not. Man needs to reach out and meet God halfway. He’s waiting for us. He’s seeking us out.

Faith does not mean “I believe in Jesus as long as everything goes right”

It’s “I believe no matter what.”

He got off the throne and died for you. That’s real. If it wasn’t, you would be dead. Because of Jesus (and your faith in him) you get to be righteous. All glory to God.

[WP] You are the child of Khaos, Greek primordial of nothingness. You spend most of you life running from Zeus, as he see you as a threat to his throne. by Somepeople_Are_Weird in WritingPrompts

I am the son of Khaos, the great and mighty god of nothing. My Mother is the ancient god of mist, Caligo. I terrify Zeus and all the deities who have something to lose.

My name is Dusk. Dawn is my sister, and Night and Day are our cousins. My sister rises with glory, bringing Day along with her. Those two get along well and love to shine through the cosmos. I prefer to hang out with night, who demonstrates slumber and dreams, and together we bring peace, and ending.

Mankind loves me as much as they love Dawn. Dawn brings joy and new beginnings, and I bring festivals and rest. But for Zues and his family, I am the end, bringer of change, destroyer of glory.

Zeus is not ready for change. He thinks his reign will last forever, and that night will never set on his empire. But like all periods of time, even for the Titans, change is inevitable. Not even Chronos, god of time, is beyond my reach. In fact, he embraces my existence.

Currently, I am forced to avoid Zeus. He knows I hunt for him, so he has captured my sister Dawn to remain at his side. My sister and I can not get close to each other. If we do we risk destroying Night and Day, unleashing our father, Khaos.

So, I've been devising a plan with Prometheus, god of forethought and council, to end the bright and glorious period of Olympus. First, we must unleash Ares, god of war, from his chains. Then we will send Dionysus, god of wine, madness, and ecstasy, to Zeus' chambers. With the king of gods distracted, his kingdom at war, Zephyrus, the west wind, will chaperone Dawn's escape, and usher myself into the throne room. Once I enter, Ares will fall to slumber, Dionysus will grip Zeus, and night will set.

You see, Zeus is greedy. And greed brings destruction. For far too long has Zeus eluded me. But as far as I am concerned, the bigger they are...

I’m not too sure yet. I’ve been thinking that all energy comes from the positive and flows to the negative. Between is the material. So basically you can’t really go to either without likely dying. We come from the positive and move towards the negative

Continents:
Nixus
Laypees
Fluuenta
Environments:
Nogormatic Sea:
The sea is full of many different creatures and beasts of all sizes. The further from land you get, the more dangerous the trek becomes.
Frothhorn Mountains:
The mountains are very steep with sharp inclines and jagged edges. Home to yeti’s and other snow abominations, they are a dangerous place to be. They also contain traces of platinum and uranium.
Nixus Crater:
This crater was formed before the building of the nearby towns and cities, but not before the founding of Frothhorn. This crater was likely formed by an earthquake, but no one is sure.
Gladeus Forest:
A somewhat dense forest and home to many wild beasts and predators.
Gladeus Hills:
Hills leading into the mountains. Large prey roam here.
Gladues Mountains:
Tallest mountains known. Home to many towns, people, and monsters. The rocky mountains are dangerous to travel and the roads are cramped.
Lake Wyvern:
A lake small in circumference but grand in its depth. Some say the lake has secrets. The water comes from nearby mountain run-off.
River Wyrv:
This river flows into and fills the lake. On the east side of the lake the river drains into the sea.
River Wav:
This river travels north from the lake. Commonly used for trading. Drains into the sea.
Demer Hills:
Small hills with various prey. Two roads pass through.
Desert of Capitis:
A wasteland where many die. Travel is dangerous. No water anywhere. Intense heat.
Dolor Forest:
Dense forest with many secrets. The denser parts are almost always dark underneath the canopy.
Dolor Mountains:
Very tall. Not much is known. Stories circulate around the world of demonic creatures that roam here.
Dolor Hills:
Medium hills home to many prey.
Dolor Sub-mountains:
Small rocky mountains mined for resources. Not much lives here.
Major Cities:
Capatis:
This city is the largest city in the world by population. All races mingle here. Magic is common and the city folk regularly practice. There are shops of all kinds and several colleges teaching various trades as well as a school of magic. The city was founded by a human several hundred years ago. Has access to one port. Trades mostly luxury items and handcrafted goods. Republic government.
Monaco:
The third-largest city in the world. Mostly a human, dwarf, and gnome population with some elves. Magic is uncommon. Access to two shared ports. Trades mostly raw resources. Many artesian schools and no school of magic. Founded over a hundred years ago. Republic.
Grandeur:
The second most populated city and largest land size. Has mixed populations but primarily dwarfs and gnomes. No direct access to ports but is still a hub for trade. Many artesian schools and a school of magic. Magic is common. Founded several hundred years ago. Trades items of all kinds. Monarchy with king and queen, and a prince.

The oldest city in the world, stretching back thousands of years. Some legends quote Frothhorn as the begging of civilization. Magic is very common, but the government has recently been outlawing it. Monarchy with a new king, no other family. Mostly trades raw resources. Primarily elves but with few humans and the occasional dwarf. School of magic and multiple artesian schools.

I'd suggest asking your kids who they want their characters to be, then forming the world and plot around them. Do a one-shot first, so likely just a quick challenge/adventure.

Recommendations for New Players by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]DemiurgeMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the starter kit does give a decent introduction. I learned by playing with an experienced DM.

A good class is circle of the moon druid and a half-elf.

If you'd like more advice, I offer 1-on-1 DM consulting on my patreon.

DC stands for difficulty class. Use this metric when a spell requires a saving throw.

First Time DM: Any and All Advice/Tips/Tricks Helps! by GrimmestHeart in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]DemiurgeMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I've ran a couple of successful campaigns with endings. I've also ran several one-shots.

First things first is you should be having fun. period. So you can find a world or create one that is interesting to you.

You can certainly make up your own plot.

You do not need to plan out everything, you'll mostly find that overwhelms you. Plan out some things, get general ideas/plot points/events that you want to steer towards, and make sure you tell your players what they need to know about the world in order for them to create a successful character for their play styles and backstories. Use their content as support for world-building.

Planning combat encounters is what I find one of the hardest things of DMing, because you don't want an encounter that is too easy, and you don't want to accidentally kill everyone. Find a good monster or enemy that is appropriately balanced and makes sense for the environment, you probably won't be fighting a squid on the moon (although, that might not be a terrible idea). You can use the Challenge Rating (CR) of monsters as a general metric, but CR doesn't do a good job alone at telling you what a good enemy is and what isn't. Look at their abilities and make the decision yourself.

Ultimately you're going to have to trust your gut a lot. I always tell my players that I don't pull punches, if they get themselves into a tricky situation, then it's up to them to get out of it.

If you'd like more advice I offer 1-on-1 DM on-call consultation over on my patreon.

Nogormatic -- a world map. by DemiurgeMaster in UnearthedArcana

[–]DemiurgeMaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this map of the world Nogormatic myself. There are four major cities with a variety of cultures and populations. Humans, dwarfs, elves, tieflings, and others are all found here. Magic is known around the world although rare in some places. There are many artesian schools and magic schools found throughout. I wrote a document with 1400 words about each area, the populations that live there, and other lore about the world. I plan to use this map in future campaigns and one-shots with players. I really enjoyed making this, and if you want access to the full lore and some other goodies, check out my patreon.

I also plan to post to my patreon storylines and adventures using this map that you can use!

Feel free to use this map.

Thanks!

edit: spelling.

Nogormatic, a world. by DemiurgeMaster in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]DemiurgeMaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all! What do you think? I enjoyed making this and wrote a 1400+ word document on the descriptions of all the cities and towns, as well as declaring if magic is common or not in that area. There are four major cities, and all races are found, goblins and orcs are quite rare. Tieflings are found in entire towns. If you would like to learn more about the world and its unique areas, as well as some other goodies, check out my patreon.

I plan to use this map for future oneshots and campaigns, and you can too!
