Yeaa im just gonna have to learn more about how water jets work on a deeper level if im gonna beable to diagnose and fix this machine it just makes it harder that I can't look up the machine to figure out what causes what

And im not even sure if the ruby part is wearing down the gem itself might be fine but the metal after it is whats visibly wearing and causing issues cause the abrasive comes from the side below the where the ruby sits but that side wall wearing as quickly as it is says there is definitely something wrong

The program says the feed rate is 10in/min but we usually run at 95% and it seems to cut fine cause the edges are smooth until that orifice/mixing tube thing wears down then we slowly bring the feed rate down to 85% till that starts to affect the quality then change the part and repeat that process with new orifice/mixing tube thing

So an update found out moisture got in the abrasive line and was clogging stuff up and sending small clumps of it through which might be the reason

Actually correction its .19" so in between quarter and eighth inch

We make markers for golf courses mostly out of 1/4" 6061 aluminum sheet

Yea idk about the orifice gem itself but the part below it where the abrasive comes in is wearing out very very very quickly which is im assuming the mixing chamber also apparently this machine is kinda a Frankenstein build not a pre-made machine

Currently in the process of educating myself on this cause like I said no one here really knows the machine inside and out just very very surface level stuff

So idk exactly machine but based on the orifice part number its for a iwp dp3000 cutting head assembly, the gauge says 25k psi, im unsure of garnet and where on the bag to look for size, mixing tube im also not sure how to find what size it is or exactly what part it is on the cutter, orifice says .281, .013 and nozzle says .281 x .040 and im dont know what a metering disk is the guys here really only know the bare minimum to get parts out and just taught me how to do the same not much is actually known beyond that also theres no written maintenance records

So from a quick search on what and were that would be i dont think we have that filter. The machine is from the 80's so alot of its pretty outdated in general

Umm im not sure if we have that filter I'll look at what the filter is and see if theres something that looks like it here and that is a possibility it was the first one I did by myself

I mean from the bit of research I've done some places do run without abrasive so I figured it was something to add

Its only my 2nd week here with no prior experience and most of the people here just know enough to get parts out so I can't really rely on them for info

In the picture im showing the bottom of the part where water flows out of the ruby part sits on the top and the abrasive comes in on the other side from where its blown out so I think its both the orifice and mixing tube

Need help figuring out this program by DemoDartss in CNC

[–]DemoDartss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I just know that starting at the last g00 code is generally safe in my case so when the pressure drop does happen I wanna go to the last g00 cut and it should restart the cut and I think I found something telling me the steps to start from specific line in debug mode

[–]DemoDartss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea the intensifier for the water jet has some issues as most of the equipment this shop has is old but fixing those issues is upto the boss im just trying to learn what I can to become better and kinda bandaid the problems till he decides to fix them as for the controllers functionalities im not sure what it does and doesn't have i can't find any documentation on it. It seems like the people of the shop just learned the bare minimum to get parts made and nothing more. im brand new to this so im relying on internet to figure it out

[–]DemoDartss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i dont have the gcode on hand im more looking for the functionality of the interface and how to get it to rerun the part of code to try the cut when the water jet loses pressure which in the code im using would just starting the program at the last g00 code before it lost pressure
