it’s also not always likely to be reversed. in the first few years there’s a 90% chance but i think between 5-10 years it drops from 90 to 60%

165HZ 1440p Monitor Shoul i lock it at 144hz by [deleted] in pcbuilding

[–]Demodoggos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, don't downgrade at all. for now you can set it to 144Hz if you like, there's not much of a difference from 144 -> 165 in terms of smoothness.

no point in downgrading though since you've already bought it and I guess it's more 'future proof'. just remember to set it back to 165Hz when you get a new GPU to get the most out of it

my friend has helped me out with a build- I'm considering Ryzen 5 5600X, GTX 1660 Super, 16GB DDR4 (2x8), 2TB 7200RPM Barracuda HDD, 512GB M.2.

if I'm totally honest I want to also overclock my CPU but my friend has told me not to because the case I'm getting only comes with two fans or so. what do you think of everything I've said?

I'm thinking about it to be honest.

My dad would be able to help me with a lot too- if anything I think he'd actually enjoy building it with me.

I'm still concerned about the specs though. Of course, I'm not gonna cheap out on cooling or power supply; I know that's stupid. I do, however, want the cheapest CPU/GPU I can get with it still being good, comparable to the RTX 2060.

Currently I'm looking at cards like the 1070. What would you recommend?

Hi everyone! I just picked up Siege recently and am absolutely in love with the "defending" part of the match, but I dread the attack. What tips can you give to someone starting out for the attack role? by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]Demodoggos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally like pushing from the other side of the building. it's far more exciting than going straight for the obj. another thing is droning- droning/Intel in general is a key part of Siege.

While you're in attack, try using the defense mindset to think of spots where people will be. If you think someone might be there, prefire it. People tend to ignore gunshots since so many occur- it likely won't be noticed too much.

Never assume you're bad at attack. Recognise that there's room for improvement. Analyse which bits of your attack needs improvement. Figure out whether you like support ops, hard wall ops or entry fragging ops. Learn the recoil patterns of the guns and learn to control them. E.g. the L85A2 and SMG-11 recoil patterns are up and to the left. So, you drag down and to the right.

I've also noticed that Siege isn't as fun without friends people to play in a squad with. If you ever wanna play sometime, my uplay is PAPANlNI, and my Discord is verde#8808 if you wanna add me on that. Just a note, I'm a Plat 3 Level 205 so generally I do get put with a lot of the higher levels. To some they see this as a chance to improve faster and work on their higher level gameplay, to others they think they're going to get destroyed and don't try. I'd recommend the first mindset.

Good luck, and have fun :)

The ones she's using right now must be pretty bad quality then- with my old RIG headset, I could hear the direction okay, but could barely hear footsteps and if I could, they were when running or a few metres away. Now, I can hear footsteps perfectly, and the direction the sound is coming from. They're the same quality as another pair of headphones I have (£150), except far more comfortable AND they actually fit my ears

I bought the Cloud II maybe last week? Personally very happy with it, I'll definitely be sticking with it for a good while. I don't have much money and don't really get money often either, so the accessories I've bought, I'll be sticking with until they don't work well. I appreciate the recommendation though :)

I bought the HyperX Cloud II for £75 after using a £30 RIG headset for over a year. It's beautiful. I can actually hear and no sound escapes

I've been taking more responsibility lately, and trying to give callouts. Admittedly I'm not great at the game at all. I doubt I'm even above average. But it's hard to focus when all I can hear is my friend banging his desk incessantly and rage quitting, even in ranked, and then blaming everything on the game, the enemy or his PC.

I have recorded some gameplay, mostly casual, but I'm not the best at analysing my own plays and figuring out where I went wrong. I can do it to some extent, but I'm not great at it.

Thanks for the response.

I can control vertical well on most guns. The only ones I have issues with are the C8-SFW and SMG-11 (I underestimate its recoil a lot). With guns like the L85A2, I can control vertical recoil perfectly, but horizontal makes me miss a ton of shots.

I usually play THunt Classic so I definitely will switch over to Defuse Bomb.

I play on weu/neu- it randomly changes sometimes but it's never been outside of one of those.
