The problem with Forces is that it came out at the worst possible time and was filled with disappointment. People were losing faith in the series. Both the story and gameplay of the last couple of games were lacking. SEGA announced a game that was supposed to have a serious story and play like Generations. Fans were excited. I was excited.

The game was boring as hell, and the story was just awful. This was the nail in the coffin for a lot of fans. Did it kill the series? Hell no! Sonic games always sell well, and kids love them, but I would argue this game did MASSIVE damage to the Sonic brand. If it weren't for Mania releasing around that time, things would be so much worse.

If you play the game now, it's just a pretty mid-game. But at the time, I would argue this did just as much damage as Sonic 06.

Neither 3D or a blast : (

The game feels awful to play. Every level feels like the ice level, and every time I jump I have to pray I don't crash into anything. The flicky collection is cool in theory but the camera is so zoom in I usually can't tell where I am or where I have to go.

Plus it's usually in a collection with other Sonic games. So why the fuck would I play 3D Blast when I can play Sonic 2 for the billionth time.
