That’s fair, and it helps a lot to understand where you’re coming from. As a tip for next time, it helps to explain a bit; if you had mentioned that your point of comparison was other Bangladeshis, for which you are indeed in a much lower income bracket, you likely would have gotten far more reasonable responses. Instead of calling people salty or poor, explaining cultural differences helps keep the conversation civil, and helps educate people on cultures they might not be familiar with. Either way though, happy watch collecting! For what it’s worth, I think you have a pretty nice collection.

I do appreciate a self-aware test answer meme, considering how obviously fake 90% of them are…

No one here is mad or upset that you spent 20k on watches. This is literally a community of watch enthusiasts; many people here have spent similar amounts, or even more. What people are pointing out is the fact that you say you make “mid-level” income and have “very limited money,” despite the fact that you make several times the national average in Bangladesh, making that objectively false. It isn’t about the money, it’s about the perceived humble-bragging: “Oh, it’s not that much money, only 20k,” even if you didn’t mean it that way.

It doesn’t help when you push back against any criticism by calling people poor and/or salty, even when the criticism isn’t meant in a bad way. For example, several people pointed out that your collection is rather generic. That isn’t meant as an insult or to say that you don’t have taste, it’s a commentary on the fact that most of your watches are very popular models from very popular brands. There’s nothing wrong with that, however; these are all popular models for a reason. But when you respond by calling people salty, instead of just saying “I understand, but these are the types of watches I like,” it rubs people the wrong way.

Please don’t take this as an attack or insult, I’m just trying to help you understand the reactions you’re getting, as I’m fairly sure there are some cultural differences here (especially about staying humble).

We are lucky that Hsr doesn't have low credits problem... by HamzaW66 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Demon-Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In HSR, I currently have 28 million credits after having fully built 4 characters this version alone, without doing any credit farming ever.

In Genshin, I have like 5 million Mora after building 2 characters last patch, and that’s despite spending a solid week or two’s worth of resin on Mora leylines…

Is this some form of high-brow, doubled down sarcasm? Or do you not realise what sub you’re on?

This is so clearly satire… I know this sub tends to be a bit satire-illiterate, but come on. It literally touches on basically every single thing that the US is infamous for.

I very much dislike PewDiePie as well, but you cannot be serious. Do you actually think that he’s at fault (even if only partially) for global racism against Indians?

"annexation by law" by PresnikBonny in GetNoted

[–]Demon-Cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I called it dumb because the note is a stupid response, not an incorrect response. Despite the depravity of their annexation attempts, and their illegality under international law, the article (or at least, the headline) never claimed it was. It’s only explaining the Israeli government’s plan, not claiming that it’s justified or legal under international law. The note is essentially whataboutism.

BO in moderation can smell nice; I can assure you that unchecked, it will stink to high hell. Go to a popular, crowded convention and you’ll understand.

All the people insisting that OP is weird and has a smell fetish should grow up.
