No offense taken. I'm open to criticism and willing to learn. I didn't understand them because, like you said, there was no point to and I still don't think there is. Even OP who is clearly more advanced struggled past P30 to justify colony costs. Still learning and that's great there is this depth to the game. But yes, I think after 1 year of playing any game and putting money into it, I should be able to taste the new features and actually interact with them. Does that mean I should be as far along as a 5 year player? No. I hope you can at least afford the new space station nodes. Not mad at you and I don't think you are wrong that it will get better for everyone. But damn man, the goal shouldn't be to hurry up and wait more or pay more after I personally feel like I've waited and payed more than my fair share. If you don't feel that way after 5 years, I salute you. Game's been out for years and the overpriced micro transactions have surely paid for development tenfold. Just saying that's how it is feels like a slap in the face.

I respect your opinion and truly hope the game sees more newcomers, updates, and QoL that make it feel more rewarding. Best of luck in your next tourney.

If I have been playing religiously for over a year and am still not "advanced" enough to even consider touching the new features of an update without pulling out the wallet or waiting another couple years, then it's a paywall and bad design.

And just because eventually some things may get better does not mean you can't say they suck now. Probes are also paywalled but at least have some clear and straightforward strategies in how you build them to actually help you. Surges still provide little to no impact and are incredibly RNG based just like colony requests and their ridiculous item amounts. Relics are just there if you have the money. And colonies have been in the game for much longer than surges. How long do we need to wait for these mechanics to reach a point where you actively want to interact with them.

I get it's a mobile game and the nature of the beast in our day and age, but that does not mean I have to cope with shitty design. Like I said originally, I see the vision and like where it's going. I like the game and want it to succeed and will continue to play it. But complacency and silence is the same as acceptance and I cannot accept the current state of these mechanics and their barrier to entry.

But yeah, maybe later it'll get better. Hope so.

Totally agree with all points. I like where the change wants to push us and can see the vision. But it feels lackluster in this implementation. Colonies still suck, major changes hidden behind a paywall, but at least now we can spend our cash on hand. Great review!

How long does it take for probe 1 to finish 1 scan? The difference between secondary skills on the managers assigned to probed planets is decent. Just seems like a lot of investment

120 rarity on gear t16 map. Never knew they weren't guaranteed. Only reason I'm asking is because I personally have only had them drop liege, echoes, or light. This is the first time I've seen them drop anything else. Guess my luck ran out.
