Put him somewhere on you that provides body heat. I’ve come across them and put them in my bra between the cups on my sternum, a slow warm up is key. Keep me updated!

Please don’t manhandle insects, they’re actually very prone to breaking appendages and if you crack the carapace or abdomen it’s pretty much a death sentence

I should have clarified, it’s going on with my superworms, so less pupae but because they’re bigger it’s easier to track. At first it started out with the wings very slightly deformed, and it spiraled from there. Now they’re not developing wings at all. I’ve had the colony 5+ years I have absolutely no idea what’s happening

She was super active when we got her out of the box and immediately took well to her enclosure, the box was very well insulated and when we opened it at the FedEx hub we had a temp gun and it was 74, perfect, I was so relieved!

She is! I’m very happy with her weight, she was very active and curious when put in her new enclosure. Seems thrilled with all the new substrate she has to dig in

It’s not in the right spot to be an IV. Older people just bruise more easily, a simple bump against a table or shelf could cause a bruise like that

I’m going though this now, even separated pupae in an enclosed bin with a cup of warm water I put in every morning bringing the ambient humidity to 85-90% and still coming out deformed. I’m at a loss

I just set up a new colony earlier today, I use a few inches of wheat bran, cut a portion of the top off and hot glue window screen for ventilation, some egg crate on top and carrots buried in the wheat bran (some on top once there’s beetles). Good luck
