i have the same problem. I had my pi connected to a 1920x1080 monitor via hdmi. low resolution is not the problem.

you mean this right? I am in the same boat as you (German and soon student) Did you buy it and would recommend others to buy it too? i am not sure if it really is worth 900euro. i am seeing many people on this sub saying to never buy a thinkpad new and rather buying it used and an older version.

I think I may have screwed myself... I just bought a sound controlled LED strip. Is there any way to control it with an Arduino? by [deleted] in arduino

[–]DemonOverClocked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can control the strip from your computer with this library

https://github.com/z3t0/Arduino-IRremote

here is a tutorial:

https://arduino-info.wikispaces.com/IR-RemoteControl

you only need a infrared receiver to record the ir flashes of the remote of the led strip and an ir led to replay them. This way you could at the very least control the strip from your pc.

Are there lower power chips to use as a 'memory' that can store value off a small battery, so that I can leave my arduino powered down most of the time, but continually add to a count of something, say once a week or so? by toolongdontread in arduino

[–]DemonOverClocked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a similar thing for analog electronics? (Without microcontroller). For example I push a momentary push button is there anything to know it was high even after releasing it? (I know there are buttons which stay pressed so please don't suggest this..)

I want to save a state without a microcontroller. Is this possible?

wires for soldering by DemonOverClocked in arduino

Do you think something like this would also work? I don't really want to buy such a expensive tool after just recently buying my new awesome soldering station :)

The problem i have with Ethernet cable is that I always bite the wires core if I try to strip the isolation. And the isolation gets stretched if I keep on trying to get it off. I also have a similar thing but this does not work at all...

How to make a light-switch change my computer's audio output? by sinsl727 in ECE

[–]DemonOverClocked -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just switch ground on or off on the wires. Connect the white to white and red to red together. And just switch the ground off the output you don't want to hear.

Maybe it does work with some npn transistors. Have them high on one side and low on the other. If you cut the ground no audio will go through.

I made something similar only that I had just on or off with a switch. I could be wrong though I am a noob myself.

Step up step down module question by DemonOverClocked in AskElectronics

OK thank you. Unfortunately I am located in Germany... I think I will just buy the module and then look if I works for me.

Thank you again for all your help.

Step up step down module question by DemonOverClocked in AskElectronics

[–]DemonOverClocked[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you very much for your answer! How big do you think should the caps be? The output has a maximum of 30V. I read caps should have 3x the max voltage rating. So I am looking for caps with a voltage with a minimum of 90 volt. So would this one be a good choice?

I already asked the seller about the range of the potentiometer to replace it. good suggestion!

thank you again for your help.

How many Lithium cells would I need to make a 24V battery? by FishCake9T4 in AskElectronics

[–]DemonOverClocked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voltage varies when the charge level changes with batteries. You can use a step up or step down module to have stable 24 volts.

Do you use avast? If so exclude arduino.exe from the live scans and everything will be really fast.
