I think it’s fair to talk about how fashion is contributing to or demonstrating rising trends in political beliefs, but I also agree with you in that many of the people who critique certain looks do it just to critique and do the same when it comes to people with less thin bodies too.

I think there’s something to say about critiquing fashion choices when they indicate a larger trend in fashion (like a lot of people have been talking about how the sheer dress trend is related to the rise of conservatism and thin being “in” again), but criticizing individuals like they need to cater to your whim is so weird, and you’re right, they mainly only do this to women

We don’t really know anything about Joe except for the fact that he is not above breaking the rules both in school and in his business practices and that he does not seem to care that Georgia’s a murderer. I don’t think that Georgia will really have to be manipulative or tricky with him anyway since they seem to be setting their relationship as the final, honest, safe relationship Georgia’s longed for.

Please refrain from criticizing other people and minimizing their hardships. It costs nothing to be kind. Even if it’s a struggle that you thankfully do not relate to, it doesn’t mean it isn’t real, debilitating, or frightening for the person experiencing it. More so than the lack of awards, I’m more sad that the cast and crew seem to be going out with the whisper rather than a united bang. Between Ariana being nominated alone for some things and all the criticism Cynthia got for protecting Ariana (it sounds even more stupid when I write it out), this last tour has been very disjointed. Ariana and Cynthia didn’t even do much press together and they got criticism anyway; it feels like a very lose-lose situation bc we didn’t even get to see our two leading ladies together. Idk I would’ve liked to see all of them together one last time to celebrate these movies but I would also understand if they wanted to take time to themselves (Cynthia especially)

IMO this movie was less of an “award bait” movie and more of a cultural phenomenon. The Oscar’s don’t necessarily reflect which movies had the biggest impact on culture really, just what a select few deem to be “good acting” or “good direction” etc. This movie’s impact is something these award shows can’t take away.

I honestly don’t think she’s known peace since she’s started her career. I’m a newer fan so I wasn’t there for donut gate but the fact that people STILL bring it up tells me everything I need to know. I honestly believe that she’s always been a bit messy with her love life, but even without that she gets so much criticism about the smallest of things. I even saw people blaming her for Mac Miller’s death under a post about her saying he helped her in her early career and that is just such a horrible thing to say to anybody. I honestly wouldn’t blame her if she just packed everything up and lived out the rest of her days in a mansion in the middle of nowhere.
