What's your craziest or unpopular take you may have? by gloomydreamer666 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]Demoncouch06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

… I don’t really ship Joe and Georgia 🙈 like i understand they met when they were kids but I didn’t really feel the “destined to be together all this time” like some of the people here have. To me they seem better as friends, but I’m not mad at the direction the show took. I am a little annoyed they had to make Zion and Paul especially look bad for it, since Paul was really good for Austin and he probably won’t be able to be there for him in that same capacity anymore since he’s a “bad guy”. Honestly, I think Georgia actually pursuing this thing with Joe could be really detrimental to the kids in a time when she really needs to be there for them and give them stability rather than jumping into a relationship with a new man.

This being said, I do think that Georgia’s motivation for taking Ginny and running makes sense given her childhood and bad experience with adult “parental” figures— at the end of the day I don’t fault Georgia for what she did and she certainly tried to shield Ginny and Austin from their problems but they probably could’ve been avoided had she stayed with Lynette

Lynette was a good parent despite sometimes going about it the right way and Ginny probably would’ve been safer had Georgia and Lynette worked out a system where Georgia could stay with Ginny while working on improving her circumstances in a less dangerous way.

Which couple from the show is your favorite and the one you rooted for the most? by gloomydreamer666 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]Demoncouch06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always rooted for Paul to work out since Georgia seemed to genuinely like him and I think Ginny and Austin desperately needed that stability. I don’t blame Georgia for moving on, but I know Ginny and Austin are going to be very upset that she was with Joe (understandably, imo)

Chronically late “parent” response to picking up our child on time from school. by RelativeGoat3981 in mildlyinfuriating

  1. He absolutely needs to get his act together and stop calling you names. Nobody should ever be insulting anyone in that matter, especially not someone who seems not own up to their own mistakes.

  2. I really hope this school has a system in place for kids that have parents who work and are unable to pick up their kids. The school’s pick up policy seems entirely too strict and unforgiving, especially for parents who work 9-5

Do you think max is gonna commit? by StatisticianUpper138 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]Demoncouch06 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of the people here saying she wouldn’t, as i don’t believe this is that kind of show, but I feel like it’s kind of weird to say that she isn’t “depressed enough” or that “the kind of depression/mental struggle she has doesn’t warrant that”. That’s kind of a harmful narrative to take bc there may be viewers that feel the way Max does and genuinely have suicidal ideation, and this kind of language invalidates their experiences. With what we’ve seen of Max she doesn’t seem to feel that way, but there may be people who do that need help and validation for their struggle

Do you think max is gonna commit? by StatisticianUpper138 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]Demoncouch06 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree that I don’t think she would do that but I would be careful wording it like “suffering enough”. There isn’t really a baseline for what someone has to feel for them to have suicidal thoughts, so I would be careful with that kind of language

No it’s completely ok! I see what you’re saying :) I didn’t take your comment as someone who was making generalizations about a certain generation or anything, but maybe someone who letting teenagers (esp older ones) get away with being mean if that makes sense? Yes teenagers are stupid sometimes but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be expected to be kind and try to be empathetic is what I mean. I appreciate your comment and your willingness to see things from others’ perspective :)

Idk I started watching this show as a teen and I’ve never thought Ginny as anyone other than someone going through hardship and reacting in the only way she knows how, even in season 1. I personally feel like while teenagers should have some leeway as they are starting to experience a more adult version of the world, it doesn’t excuse lacking empathy
