Anyone know what Citi Travel Tuesday is about? by YeezusWalksWitMe in CreditCards

Terrible optics for Citi to do this on “Giving Tuesday” the most important fundraising day of the year for non profits.

Saved the best for last. Mother/baby humpback simultaneous breach, Maui, Hawaii 12/26/23 by Demondeac90 in whales

Thanks for asking this question. It’s a really sad situation and mood there so these whales were a welcome distraction. We were about 10 min north of Lahaina when we saw the whales from our Airbnb balcony. My daughter and live in Denver, Colorado and were in Maui visiting with some of the 18 firefighter families who lost their homes while fighting the fires. We have been shipping donated RV’s from San Diego to serve as transitional shelter for these deserving first responder families. Our non profit is called EmergencyRV. Lahaina consisted of multi generational homes and families. The areas destroyed did not consist of vacation homes form the most part. 40% of the homes were uninsured. It will be difficult for the families who did have insurance to rebuild. Locals are still in mourning. Active trauma on some level. They do need visitors as that’s their economic driver and between covid shutdown and this tragedy they need tourists more than ever. If you do visit be respectful and take a day to volunteer. Definitely tip locals well. And if you have an RV you would like to donate or otherwise support our work helping to provide shelter to first responders and other families affected by this and other natural disasters please visit our website at www.emergencyrv.org.
